@Rescue4All started in 2013 as a foster home based rescue but moved to this property at the end of 2019. Then with the pandemic hitting just months later, they have been having to intake more and more unwanted dogs who were dumped and abandoned. Dogs who otherwise would be euthanized because they had nowhere to go. Spokane County has imposed strict zoning regulations that make it difficult for animal rescue organizations like Rescue4All to operate. They were forced to apply for a Condition Use Permit (CUP) and comply with Commercial Kennel requirements, which are not suitable for their mission. Rescue4all needs to relocate to Stevens County, where there are fewer zoning restrictions. There is added pressure because of 2 huskies they took into their program in July 2023. They had been dumped and passed around, with no one able to keep them contained. SCRAPS was full, so they came to the rescue. They are great dogs, wonderful with people, dogs, and cats, but like most dogs, they are not good with small prey animals. Despite their best efforts, shortly after they got here, they managed to escape by digging under the fence and killing four free-range chickens over half a mile away. They were not cited because there was no evidence proving they had done it. However, they recently escaped again and returned to the same property, killing 7 birds. The rescue has apologized, secured the property and offered to compensate for the loss. The property owner has responded with anger and hostility, seeking revenge by spreading lies, soliciting people who live in the area with their agenda, harassing supporters, and openly stating they want the dogs 💀. Their anger has made them feel unsafe in their own home, and live in constant fear for the safety of the dogs. After two years without a pup, we were ready to add to our family, and Jamie at Rescue 4 All was exactly what we needed! We went through the adopter screening process, and while our kids were a bit nervous around dogs, it made Jamie a little cautious herself. To ease everyone into the process, we decided for my husband and I to visit the refuge alone to meet a group of dogs and see if we connected with any of them. Sure enough, Lucy followed us around and instantly bonded with both of us. We decided to do a foster-to-adopt program so our kids could meet her in the comfort of our home, and it turned out to be the perfect match. Two years later, Lucy is an irreplaceable part of our family. We are so grateful for Jamie’s dedication and the work of Rescue 4 All. Without their commitment, we would never have had the opportunity for this incredible bond. Lucy’s story is a testament to the power of rescue; when she was just 10 weeks old, she and her sister were found after being attacked and poisoned. Tragically, her sister didn’t survive, but Lucy defied the odds and made it through. Without Rescue 4 All’s intervention and medical care, she wouldn’t be here with us today. We’re proud to be a dog family, and I’m so happy to share that our kids are no longer afraid. Thank you, Rescue4All! 🐾

Jamie, the founder of Rescue4All, has poured her heart and soul into the work she does to help save animals. We have adopted from her organization two times, and the lengths she goes to to assure the animals are going to good homes is beyond impressive. She provides tons of information to her adopters regarding training, nutrition, chew treats and toys, gear recommendations, social media accounts to follow for behavioral help, etc. Many, if not most of the dogs Jamie rescues have experienced severe trauma, abuse, neglect and disease. She works tirelessly to reverse those effects and provide dogs with medical care, proper nutrition, safety, love, and their absolute best lives. She is a true advocate for her animals, and her organization is vital to our community. I have great admiration for her selflessness and dedication to her never-ending work.

Rescue4all is an amazing organization that puts the health, happiness, and success of dogs first. Jamie placed our beloved dog and best friend with us a few years ago and I am forever grateful. Dog trainers absolute rave about my girls’ appropriate play and communication with other dogs. A HUGE reason for this is Jamie and her education. She knows puppies need to stay in a pack to learn pack structure until 4 months of age which is exactly what she did for our dog. Not only did she give us our best friend, but she was so patient and kind with all of her advice, tricks, and references while we jumped back into the sometimes overwhelming puppy stage of raising a high energy, intelligent dog breed. Jamie was always available to us and our questions DESPITE running an entire refuge and often times sitting out in the middle of the woods trying to catch scared, frightened, and dumped dogs, running emergency cases hours away to skilled vets, getting involved with hoarding situations, abuse cases, etc. etc. etc. Despite all of that, I am floored by all the “bad customer service comments”. I know rehoming your pet can be highly emotional, but this refuge is not in the customer service business. They are in rescue work. Which is often tireless and thankless work that is only rewarded by knowing you’re helping animals even when you’re absolutely drained and exhausted, emotionally and physically. I think it is amazing that Jamie advocates for pets and tries to educate people in order to save a dog’s life from being turned upside down. Jamie has educated me so much through her social media and I have been able to pass along that information to dog owners as well, creating a ripple effect of better education. I’m sorry if you’re upset about challenges you are having with your pup, but if R4A can stop even one dog from being displaced by providing resources to a struggling owner… that is an amazing outcome. Take it easy on your local rescue and shelter workers, they give their entire heart and soul to these animals, love them like they’re their own, and don’t have much...
