I came in for a simple trim, my first haircut since giving birth, and I'd been really looking forward to a moment of renewal and self-care. Unfortunately, the experience felt rushed and impersonal. My haircut was done quickly, without consultation or communication. ( I wanted a wash , cut, set) After the brief trim , I was directed to the wash station, only to watch Lucy immediately begin another client’s haircut. I sat there feeling brushed aside, with no sense of closure or presence. I ended up walking out quietly and honestly a little heartbroken .

While others, including my husband, were met with warmth and conversation, I felt like an afterthought. As a woman of color, I’m familiar with what subtle exclusion feels like—not loud, but deeply felt.

Hair is sacred. Presence is part of the job. If you’re offering a service that involves touch and care, how someone is made to feel is just as important as the final result. I’m not sharing this to be cruel—I’m sharing it with hope that it brings more awareness to how small moments, and quiet dismissals, can carry weight. But also, our haircuts were bad.

I’ve since found someone else to work with. Photos taken after included for context & clarity.

EDIT (after owner response): I’ve seen the owner’s reply. I’m not interested in debating or defending my lived experience. What I shared was my truth. I was not consulted, not cared for, and the dismissive energy I received is still valid—no matter how it’s now being explained. I stand by my review and I’m grateful I’ve found a new stylist who sees and...

Absolutely love my haircut! Morgan is AWESOME!! After having a very bad experience in another salon years ago that left me in tears, I was nervous to ever get it cut again. I have gotten so many compliments and have found my new hair stylist. I definitely recommend her to anyone who is looking for a great cut....
