If you're scared of cardio, this is the place for you. They spent way too much money on infrastructure but next to nothing on the actual scares. The wagon ride down the hill is completely unnecessary and the driver was so bad, I may have whiplash. Then came the walk back up the hill; there were only 4 or 5 scares and they were spaced so far apart that the actors were clearly bored and could be seen walking around. That really ruins the surprise.
The actors are almost all underage and either unpaid or paid very little because they obviously don't care about what they're doing. That being said, the dollhouse was actually quite scary and creepy and the cemetery got me good.
All in all though, I cannot recommend anybody spend $20 to go through this. At the end, a lady asked how it was and we told her it was too few and far between. She admitted they needed more actors and asked if we knew anybody. Here's my advice on that, if the number of employees that were selling concessions/merchandise and driving trucks were actors, it could've been good. And cut out the excruciating wagon ride and make the trail a walking loop.
Finally, they start selling tickets at 7, but the first group didn't go in til sundown. And that whole time, nobody is selling any concessions, and they don't even seem to be ready for people at...
Read moreThis is the first year my family has heard of and subsequently been to Twisted Trails and they loved it. My wife and the kids actually said it is their favorite local haunt now. Looking back on reviews of the place’s establishment in 2019, I am surprised to see such rotten reviews but if they made changes based on reviews/feedback, it shows and that’s awesome. I had almost no issues with this haunt. I thought it was organized well. I thought the actors all did a great job. I thought the animatronics were well placed and timed. I thought the pacing of groups sent on the trail was done so well that we didn’t miss any scares, which is a rare thing. A lot of haunts you end up bumping into the group that went before you and then you miss all the scares. The trails are definitely better than Muck Manor but I enjoyed the laser/fog effects of the “swamp”. Always a neat effect and makes it very easy and effective for the Scareactor. The Cincy Savers deal is an absolute steal for the value of what you get. The only thing I wish they had was a food truck or more concession offerings. Would have liked to stop and have a meal while taking in the sites and sounds of the grounds. That being said, we enjoyed the hot chocolate and the mini donuts. We’ll definitely be...
Read moreThe mansion was short and bad. They used the inflated tubes in hallways 4 or 5 different times. They allowed a lady with 2 infants to go through the mansion and the trail if that tells you how scary it isn't.
The lady dressed as the clown (running the line) seemed to care and put some effort into it. They had a few of the props that were really good, but the trigger time was off on some of them and missed most of us. The props that were controlled by hand didn't come out of the hidden space enough for us to see what it was. They did space us decently far from each other which is a huge deal if only the scares would have all triggered on time. At the end you have to wait for a tractor to come pick you up and during the ride back get your ears blown out by what sounds like a train horn on a car and a cannon. If you do go, cover your ears at this part it's not scary just triggers the PTSD for the vets that they give tickets to.
This was a $5 maybe $10...
