Chakana Sky Alpacas — Local services in Chester

I’m sorry to say we were a bit disappointed with our visit. It started with our online purchase, two adults and one child which totals $25 but our credit card was charged $35. We decided that we would bring it up once we got to the farm, but that was not to be. We were greeted with an “oh, I forgot to block off the calendar for today.” We had driven 40 minutes to get there, so we awkwardly responded that we were sorry (not sure what we were sorry for….showing up maybe?) Our “tour” was all of 30 minutes and that was because we were trying to stretch it out by asking questions. Unlike some of the other reviews who wrote they were allowed to pet and even go inside the pens of the alpacas, we were told that they did not like to be touched. So we fed them from the outside of the fence. The Alpacas were very cute and seeing them was fun. But the overall experience was disappointing. We had packed a picnic lunch, as we read on the website as something inviting to do, but felt like we were just in the way, so we had our picnic elsewhere. Took my mom today for her birthday. We made the decision last minute and were easily accommodated. Bill was incredibly knowledgeable and patient. We got to feed the male alpacas and go in to hang out up close with the females. It’s obvious how much he loves the alpacas and he was great to talk to. An especially great part was that its customized in a way that you wouldn’t get at a larger/commercial type farm. Very clean and comfortable. It was my first time seeing real alpacas, and I am glad I got to meet them at Chakana Sky Alpacas!!!!!! We booked in the morning through their website on Facebook, and our booking was immediately confirmed for the afternoon. Bill and his alpacas are so sweet. We got to feed them, and we were allowed to get so close to them too. We spent almost an hour adoring the alpacas and choosing the alpaca stuff they sell at their cute store. Super nice experience...
