UPDATE: Customer service is now absolutely terrible, you used to have the best and now I can say it's one of the worst. I was unable to login to my account and contacted customer service 3 times for help. It took 2 WEEKS to receive a response back and when I did they simply sent me a reset that I couldn't use in the first place and that was why I was contacting them. I responded and told them that and I was then sent another email stating someone would get back to me, I already waited 2 weeks and most multiple items as a result. I STILL haven't heard back and it's been a week. SORRY Sierra you forgot about your customers which is what made you so incredible. This really was my favorite place to stop I've frequented many many times

I am a long time customer of STP, I'm hopeful this is the corporate location. I cannot believe the changes that have occurred over the last year and none for the better. I was your BIGGEST fan, I have literally referred thousands of people to your company, professionally I used your company by referring customers who've suffered the loss of their homes due to fire thru their insurance company. From my first order years ago, I was so impressed with the amazing customer service, incredible value and care I was given. I still cannot compare your pricing anywhere, I don't think anyone will ever beat you in that regard but customer service has taken a seriously BAD TURN. Previously when I had an issue I would email and customer service would respond within 15 min, EVERY time. My questions or issue was handled professionally, kindly and quickly, I was always treated so incredibly. Now, it takes DAYS to receive any response regardless of how important your issue. I have been having trouble logging in and deleting and managing items in my cart,I have made it VERY CLEAR I NEED to place an order and I cannot with these issues and STILL it's been 4 days since I've received any response, unacceptable. Last month it took 2 weeks, two weeks to receive 1 email. I am literally trying to give you my business and customer service WON'T respond. I'm sorry this blatantly lack of care and concern has now happened multiple times over the last 6 months and I no longer feel you care about me as a customer. If even after I've mentioned the lengthy delay in response and asked for a quick reply so I can place another very large order, I STILL can't get a reply, I am done. I have spent thousands upon thousands of dollars at STP and even if it weren't the case because it i shouldn't matter anyway, I am absolutely floored by this turnaround. I'm sorry but your customer service cannot go from being the best to the worst in such a short period of time. I am hopeful you...

I've been in this store half a dozen times, of which I receive emails from, updating me on new arrivals, and so for the most part, that is why I stop. One can see the store and distribution center from the Interstate, but it's not easy to get to, as you have to get off the interstate 4 or 5 miles ona sort of side road, to get to it, driving west on the interstate. Driving ea.st, it's about the same, but getting off at a major interchange. First time traveler's really need a gps to understand how to get there. The parking area doesn't seem very big, but maybe it holds more cars than I'm aware of. Once inside the entrance, you will see the checkout area, as it faces the front doors. It seems to be a rather small oulet, but there is an upstairs, and even that seems to be an elongated version of a billard room. So basically there isn't a lot of items, but there is. I suppose there are equal amounts of men and women items, and some children as well. Customer service was not all that great, in that I had to hunt down the one lady that was apparently the only one working the upstairs area. If you you have a clue how to find an item via their computer interface with warehouse, then you'll find yourself just standing around trying to get some help. Clothing selection is pretty good, in as far as to what I was looking at. Name brand items and pricing seem to be in order for some good deals, but only for certain sizes, as well you all know to well. Shoes, boots snow shoes, and I do think I saw some nice house slippers. A little off to the left as you enter the store is full of splurge items, and some food stuffs, along with blankets and quilted stuff. There is a little some kind of a snack bar with hot coffee and other drinks like that. So, after all is said and done, I will be coming back to hunt down some other items after the gift...

I have bought many things from this lovely store. I will no longer be back to buy anything. I needed a new coat, and I bought coats from Sierra in the past. Unfortunately, the new policy with trying on coats with the hard tag cable locks on them, even with a sales associate present, is bologna. The cable was too short and wasn't able to put my arm in one sleeve. The sales associate was no help and said, "Yeah, unfortunately, it has to be that way." I said it was too short, and she didn't call anyone else to assist or ask if she could fit a moment. She didn't even try. It was a longer coat and if she was going to be standing there anyway assisting me she could've asked to take the cable lock all the way off so I could decide whether I wanted that coat or any another I liked. If they are NOT allowed to remove it completely while standing there with the customer, that's ridiculous! The coats need to be properly tried on. I've purchased items from every department in this store at Campstool Road. The new policy to leave the cable in the sleeve while trying on the coat if it is a policy has turned me away as a regular customer from today forward. Daily life has enough challenges in it. We don't need more things to agitate. I might have decided differently if the sales associate had tried harder to accommodate the customer. If the store has that much theft, there has to be other solutions than treating everyone like a potential criminals instead of welcomed guests. I won't be back. They should change the greeting going in the door from, "Welcome in." It's not a welcoming place at all anymore. I nor my family will be back. I was truly looking forward to buying another new coat...

I am an avid camper and love Sierra to buy everything for the outdoors. Yesterday, I went to your store in Schaumburg, IL, and the manager approached me. Not to ask me if I needed to find anything in particular but to tell me that I could save 10% if I got the Sierra Visa card. I reminded her I was in the store the month before when I bought a cooler, and she insisted on the same Visa card. Despite that, I repeatedly told her I don't use credit, and she continued pushing, implying that I was an idiot not to take the generous offer. I ignored her and walked to the cash register, where the cashier continued to push for the store Visa. She repeated the same information four times. I understand Sierra makes money on credit card balances and the fees owed by pushover customers, but you need to respect my wishes. NO TO have a store Visa!!! Leave your good customers alone. It is pathetic a company relies on credit cards to make profits instead of good quality products and services as it should and pressures its employees to sell their high-interest credit cards to customers.

BLAZE OF GLORY! This place is going down. This company used to be great! I recently placed an order for dive gear and not only was it not fulfilled, but customer service was AWFUL. Plus, now we're scrambling to get the gear 3 days before we leave for vacation. Even as a big company, it's ok to make mistakes. BUT, not communicating the error, not taking responsibility, and then refusing to correct it are UNACCEPTABLE. There are lots of other retailers that are happy to take my money AND treat me with respect. I'll be shopping at those from now on. 👍 if helpful, thanks!!! 🙏

Very disappointed in the new store format. I'm a local and used to shop there many times a year. My outdoor gear closet is stuffed with great deals from this store. Now it's an empty sorry shell of what it once was. I've been avoiding it for the last year but decided to check it out before the holidays. It was such a disappointment I don't see a reason to ever go back. I recommend you skip it. Goodbye Sierra Trading Post.
