Collectors Ink — Local services in Chico

I'm giving this place 3 stars because I like the cozy feeling of the place and if you need someone to suggest products to you, the owner will certainly do so. However, don't fall for the "this is only 5% of our stock" that she'll tell you. This may or may not be true, but I ordered a comic and paid upfront for it - thinking it wasn't a big deal to wait (even though I knew I could buy from Amazon at the same price and have it within a week). I called back a month later, and she said -some explanation I don't care about - the order had been lost and she was just placing it then. I have now waited another month and haven't heard anything from her. Whether she is trying to take my money or simply has a terrible system, I really don't care to have to deal with her most certainly forthcoming apologies. I just want my money (and time) back.

Could have had my business, but I don't want to feel like I'm walking into a used car lot just to buy some comics. If you decide to go here, just do NOT order anything from them and don't let her talk you into anything you don't want. Other than that, she's a good...

I went here with not much to expect. When we got there the owner gave us a tour of the store which was not bad. It was when we were checking out that made the experience not very great. My boyfriend was looking through a binder that was left out with all of the other merchandise so as a customer he thought we could look through them since all card shops we’ve ever been to had the same thing with cards to sell. He found one he liked and we went up to pay. The owner then says that the card was not for sale and his wife said it was not for sale as it was her husband’s personal collection. However the amount of attitude and unwelcoming atmosphere that came from this made the experience so uncomfortable even after my boyfriend expressed his apologies. It was like they didn’t care. I then decided to not get anything and when I said I was going to pass on what I was getting, the person ringing me up gave me more attitude. I will not be...

My experience here has me at a loss for words. I am simply not articulate enough to describe my euphoric experience of this shop, but I'm gonna try.

First, Jason went way out of his way to allow me in at an odd hour. Then, he gave me a full tour of the shop which is absolutely loaded to the brim with comics (many I struggled to find elsewhere for months). Besides comics, they have all sorts of things to geek out on, games, collectibles, and cards that I promise you will not see at any other shop.

Jason went digging deep to find me what I had been searching so long for, and cut me a deal I couldn't have begged for. I've been treated worse by nuns. The man is a hero. He has a deep knowledge of everything I asked and taught me quite few things, which is no small task. He is a master of his craft.

Tldr: This place has exactly what you've been looking for.
