Golden Beaver Distillery — Local services in Chico

On a whim, I dropped into the golden beaver for a tasting, and it was great! Pricing, and quantity of spirits to taste, was extremely generous - with the price of a tasting contributing towards a purchase of you buy a bottle. The distiller who poured my tasting, Andrew, was knowledgeable and clearly personally invested in the quality of the product and my experience.

I feel like I might kick myself for only buying one bottle! (I opted for the honey whiskey, but it was a close call with their bourbon) Cheers to hoping I find myself in Chico again sometime soon. I definitely recommend a visit if you are into...

We wanted to celebrate our Chico State grad and all relax and hangout. Yes, 9 of us walked into the distillery at one time, no we did not pressure the bartender, ask for anything off menu, or be what some in the industry would consider needy. We were patient, relaxed and simply hanging out. The bartender was clearly perturbed by our presence. We bought merch, and tried to support the brand. But the bartender was rude, attitudinal, and made it seem like we were not welcome, unwanted, and an inconvenience to his shift. Sorry we tipped you well for poor and unfriendly service. Fun new distillery that is rapidly expanding! They have live music most weekends along with food trucks, and serve cocktails made from their spirits. Their tasting is extensive - they have gin, vodka, moonshine and whiskey. They also have rotating flavored moonshine which is fun.

My one critic is there outdoor area could use more ambiance. Maybe some couches, fire pits, corn hole, greenery etc. Right now it's just tables on concrete. It does has a covered tent w/lights which is nice for less...
