Time of our lives!! All I can say is wow! Hunter was absolutely amazing from start to finish. He knows this island and these ponies better than anyone. For starters, we arrived a bit early and he got us on the boat for the rocket launch. This was very cool if you are into NASA and want to see the launch from the water (who wouldn’t, right?). My three kids were totally silent in awe! Hunter went above and beyond by explaining NASA and having the communications streaming so we could all hear. Our trip continued with a fun ride in search of the ponies, which we found in all their glory. Hunter filled us in on the history of the ponies, how they are maintained, and the pony swim. Being a firefighter himself, he works deligently with the ponies and has first hand experience with the ins and outs of the ponies themselves. The baby pony was a highlight!! As the sun was setting, we were able to witness the Chincoteague skies and all the beauty that this provides from the boat. Just when we thought the cruise couldn’t get any better, the dolphins came by and were playing with us and showing off. The “cherry on top” as my 16 year old daughter put it. We booked the Guaranteed Pony Boat Tour because we wanted to see the pony's as close as possible. They were willing to give 50% refund if you didn't get to see any ponies, and with there being so many options for pony boat tours, I was willing to pay the extra money per person to see ponies cause if we didn't then we would get some of our money back.

This boat tour did not disappoint in the slightest. The captain was amazing. Great people skills and a great story teller. He was able to answer so many questions we had on the history and current relevance on both islands. We saw three different groups of ponies at three different spots. We also saw some cool birds like a bald eagle and the little blue herons. We saw them closer then thought possible on a boat. The whole family loved the trip especially our daughter. We plan to take this tour again on future trips...
