let’s start off by me calling, but I’m 3040 minutes away asking to get a teatime around 10 they tell me 1024 and nobody is in front of me. We get there at 10:15 and we look in there 4 to 5 holes of golfers where they’re sending us off mind you for some of women two to a guy to some women, a single and then two more behind him, but we were told and then in our face when we bought our green fees that there’s still nobody in front of us, which he strictly lied to my face twice and on the phone after getting the cart in the clubs, we go across the street and the starter super nice listen to me rant about Hunter how unprofessional they are so they send us off the fourth nine after about 10 minutes awaiting because that’s how long it took the group in front of us just to get off the top of the fairway because there’s no one supposed to be there and he tells us good luck well the reason he tells us good luck is because the greens were completely mud. There was two greens. I had grass on it in between all this. There was a young gentleman that tried to help me and I was so mad. I was afraid what I would say and I said no, but he did try to help me, but for a beaver county course it supposed to be one of the executive courses around totally sucked MANAGEMENT at the cash register he needs to be fired. The superintendent needs to be fired. The fairways look like shit. The greens are terrible. Fox run is 10 times better grassy Lane is five times better if you plan on going to BLACKHAWK, your best bet is to keep driving and go to rolling acres grassy Lane east Palestine country club or Beavercreek fox run is better than BLACKHAWK don’t waste your time or your money or believe what they say on the phone cause it’s all lies. These are not opinions....
Read more2nd Review Played another round at Blackhawk on 7/19/25, this time on the 3rd and 4th nines. I was very disappointed in the course. All of the greens were in bad shape. Some worse than others. There was disease and dead spots on most of them and they were all “furry”. Maybe they were not cutting them to try and let them heal, it was not working. What I did not understand was the incredibly butchered collars on almost every green.
What is up with the yellow mesh flags?
The length is deceptive at first. The par 5’ are very long and the majority of the par 4’s are short. You need to score well on the par 4’s as par on the par 5’s is a good score.
1st review I had not played Blackhawk in many years, but I was glad I played on 7/7/24. Pro shop and starter all very friendly and helpful.
This course has 2, 18's. I played the first 2, 9's. The first 9 has several short par 4's that should be great opportunities to score, and you want to as the second 9 is longer and more challenging. No complaints on conditioning on the 18 I played. Fairways were in good shape as well as the greens.
Nothing fancy, but a very...
Read moreThis is the first review I have ever written for anywhere, but something has to be said. It's a shame to see this place go so downhill so quickly. I grew up golfing here and always bragged to friends how beautiful it is for a public course, but these are by the worst conditions I have EVER seen (on ANY course). They should really consider 1. Informing people how bad the conditions are and 2. Offering a discounted rate. The bartender mentioned a new irrigation system, but that does not explain greens that are 70% dirt. It does not explain the absolutely tore-to-shred tee-boxes. It is not just the course, the food is not the same as years past either. The bar food is alright, but the food they served at the last outing I went to was extremely sub-par. My entire group stopped at McDonald's on the way home. I will not be back this year. I sincerely hope that new irrigation...
