Eel River Golf Course — Local services in Churubusco

We planned to take our adult kids out for their first time golfing to celebrate our daughter’s 23rd birthday. We had 3 carts and 2 in each cart. Apparently we were supposed to only have 3 and 3…were we to put the 3rd person on top of the other 2 in their cart or was that person supposed to walk the entire course? A rude little guy came out and said we needed to split up so we didn’t slow up the other golfers. We paid for 4 and only 3 golfed in the first group because of the policy…why did they sell it that way? We played best ball to be considerate and eventually we had to wait for the group in front of us. The other 2 in our group ended up with us because of the back up making us very uncomfortable because we didn’t want to have staff show up and make us leave. All about the money!!!!! And charged me $38 to play at 8:05 and turned the sprinklers on our group. They said there was a sign in the clubhouse but didn't hesitate to take all our money and not offer a refund. We have been going there for 4 to 5 years but apparently we are just numbers to them. I understand that you wanted to go home. Fine. Tell us not to play or say we don't let anyone tee off after 7. Whatever. But don't take our money and drench us with no recourse. Fairways are terrible particularly on the par threes. The rough has many bare spots and the ground is more weeds than good grass. It has been like this for years. I asked the pro shop if we would be called for our tee time since the course was well-booked and we were 30 minutes early. He said yes. No announcements were made. The par 5 has never been marked with red or white stakes indicating what to do if my ball lands in the pit or in the river area. This course gets a lot of play and has local high school teams there.
