I have been there a few times and really really enjoy the range, especially since its outside. Staff is always friendly and the other shooter’s are super friendly and respectful. Ive Never had an issue until today. The bald gentleman that works there was very very disrespectful and seemed very agitated. we (a group of 5) explained we were there to use the pistole range, the only range I've always used in the past, But when the young lady behind the counter gave us targets that were different from the green torso targets they have always given us in the past, we were a little confused. Politely and out of curiosity we just asked why we weren’t getting the green torso targets we usually get, the lady told us “these are what we always use”. The bald gentleman also said from behind us “ this is what we always use, you just didn’t get caught for using the other ones” in a very loud and agitated tone. After he said that we said “ okay I’m just you telling thats Whats we’ve always been given in the past”. The bald gentleman then accosted us and said “ i don't care this is how we are doing it from now on”. #1 this gentleman has given me those green torso targets himself in the past, #2 he said he said “we didn't get caught” as if we took them before without them knowing. We had already paid so we used the range anyway, but i nor will any of the people i was with will return...
Read moreThere's a group of us that head out there 1-2 times a month. We are Shotgun shooters and anywhere fro 5-15 of us will show up to turn clays to dust. There are 2 Skeet and 2 Trap fields, if memory serves, I don't shoot trap often enough to remember. We've only had 2 occasions where we've needed the throwers reloaded over the course of the year. There is a room with shooter supplies if you forget some safety gear. I have forgotten safety glasses and ear protection a couple of times and they have had what I needed in stock at a reasonable price. I don't reload, but the guys I shoot with do and they buy most, if not all, of their reload supplies here. This 'feels' like a family run place and that is one of the reasons I like shooting here. There is enough trust that the people who are shooting here know what they are doing and they leave us to it. If you are brand new to shooting and need some hand holding to learn exactly what is going on, this may not be the place for you. However, if you know basic range rules and etiquette this is a great place to knock 'birds'...
Read moreI recently visited Bexar Community Shooting Range and found it to be a very basic facility. It had all the essential amenities you’d need, but not much beyond that. The range itself was functional and met the minimum requirements, but there weren’t any extra features or comforts that stood out.
The main downside was the interaction with one of the staff members. During check-in, the employee was condescending and made the experience uncomfortable. There was confusion about the correct target for our rifle versus pistol, and instead of helping clarify, the staff member responded rudely. This created tension and left a negative impression on the visit.
On the positive side, the exit process was simple, and another staff member was friendly and professional, which helped end the experience on a slightly better note. Overall, while Bexar Community Shooting Range met our basic needs, the poor interaction with one employee significantly impacted the...
