Dollar General — Local services in Circleville

Definitely can tell things have changed in the last several years. When we first moved to Kingston Ohio our local Dollar General was a pleasant place to stop and shop. Seasonal inventory even a nice shirt if needed. Now when I drop in I’m always having to walk around inventory carts where employees are stocking and leave them in the isle-way while the check someone out. Wait lines for checkout can be long and frustrating. Clearance items are put outside to attract customers as they come in but are cluttered and messy. And usually not that great of a deal. Bathrooms are dirty and sometimes out of supplies. Staff use to be seniors working just to keep themselves busy and enjoyed their customers. Small town store needs to consider their clientele and accommodate. Also the workers are suppose to wear a uniform or such. If DG is going to require this they need to emphasize cleanliness and neatness. One employee has body odor so bad we can smell it across the register. Such a turn off. I believe in Dollar General Corporations and respect and admire their successes. This is why I take the time to give a review. Come DG you are a four tune 500 company...

This store is in Kingston. Normally I love going into a DG. First time I've been in this one. It was hard to enter the store bc carts were scattered everywhere and products were scattered .. it was like a maze. The store shelves were a total mess or empty the store looked right down trashy. One casher with a long line and talking to each customer about how is your Aunt Mary and all the cousins. After about 5 customers later I was just about ready to walk out and another casher open up the other register . This person act like she didn't want to be there. Getting out was just as bad no room to try and get to the door. I myself had to leave my cart at the counter bc there was no way to get through the line of people to the door . Worst experience I've ever had in DG. Sad to say. No greeting when you first walk in and no..Thank you for shopping with us today...

Just wanted to give a shout out to the employee Dustin who did a very honest and loyal thing. He reached out and located me on FB messenger to let me know that I had left my debit card in the machine. Told me he retrieved it and he was putting it in the safe until i come to get it. Not even knowing I left it behind I wouldnt of realized it until I went to use it and would of had to cancel it. He could of taken my card without anyone knowing and used it. He chose to try and locate me and get my card back to me. He deserves something for his honesty and loyalty. I am a regular customer at this location and he recognized me by searching for me on FB. Not very many people are honest and loyal these days. Thank you Dustin for your honesty and going out of your way to get my card back to me. Your a good person and DG needs to recognize you for...
