$25 to play 9 holes of "Twilight Golf" is absolutely absurd. Add on cart fees and you're at almost $40 for 9 holes on a course that isn't in that great of shape. For that much money I expect greens that aren't in such poor condition. If you're going for "Twilight Golf" (after 5pm in the fall) then don't bother with this course. You're paying $35 with a cart to play 9 holes and you're guaranteed to basically lose out the last 1 or 2 holes because of the dark. Why? Because they pack their tee-times in so heavily. We had 2-3 groups immediately ahead of us. That's insane to think everyone is going to get done before dark when you pack them in so much.
I mentioned above, but it's worth repeating: they pack tee-times in, incredibly poor staggering of times. You'll be backed up soon enough if you're not backed up immediately after tee-off.
Weekend golf is even worse. You'll pay almost $60 for 18 holes and cart, and you better have your own foursome or else you're getting paired with people (I absolutely hate that, I didn't pay $55 to play with random people I don't know).
I'll never play here again. Golf options in the Capital Region are pretty lousy to begin with, but I'd rather drive 30+ min to a course that's a way better value than what you get...
Read moreTo the middle-aged man who works at the counter: Please address whatever is troubling you in your personal life and keep it separate from your work. I needed a rain check because I had to rush home to my family. Despite my tee-time being at 12:50 PM, they insisted on charging me for 18 holes since it wasn't after 1 PM which is apparently a rule they have. I agreed and paid for the full round. However, we ended up waiting at the tee-box for 30 minutes due to overbooking, delaying my actual tee-off until 1:20 PM. When I finished the front 9, I requested a rain check for the back 9 due to the delayed start. The man at the counter responded with the attitude of a disgruntled teenager, even rolling his eyes at me. Sir, this is a public course, not a for-profit one. My advice to you is to treat your customers with respect and leave your personal issues aside.
I sympathize with whatever difficulties you may be facing and hope things improve for you.
Besides for the man who works the counter, the starters at this course are very friendly and accommodating, which is why I'm giving this place a two-star rating. Additionally, the greens are well-maintained, but the bunkers need...
Read moreNot going to return to this golf course for a long time. I was a regular here for the better part of a year, loved the course and would play at least three tinmes a week. The management and grounds crew could not be more disrespectful or rude to a regular who was always good to the course. I was overcharged several times as a non-resident even though I have lived in Albany for the past 3 years of my life. I was told to "find another course if I didnt like it," and treated with complete disrespect, The level of arrogance by employees and management for what is really an average course is outrageous. If you are looking for a quiet day of golf on a nice course, look elsewhere. There are several better-kept courses in the Albany area and at the very least, you are treated with a...
