Builder's Bargain Outlet — Local services in City of Hornell

I usually like this place. The prices are amazing ,we've bought everything there to remodel our house. Today was my first bad experience. The website states they are open until 4 pm. We got there at 1:43pm. We had a list of everything we needed as we were there on Wednesday checking the cabinets out. Well, today, Dillon was only concerned about getting out at 2pm.We walked in, and he greeted us with we close in 12 minutes. I said oh it says 4 pm on the website ," and he said well that's wrong." Zach jumped in and helped us, and it was absolutely wonderful to deal with. As we were loading our cabinets and counters, Dillon came all the way out back to inform us that they are closing in 3 minutes. He never tried to help us, and as I was trying to apologize to him because the website says 4pm,he told me he didn't need the attitude he wanted to get out. So that being said, if I were the manager, I would probably tell Dillon to find a new job. If it wasn't for Zach, they would have lost a lot of money today....if Dillon and bib overalls had bothered to help Zach, it wouldn't have taken the 12 minutes. But they just sat there while Zach rang us out and helped...

My husband and I went there looking for one thing and ended up buying enough pine tongue and groove boards to do the walls in my kitchen, stairway, hall walls and ceiling and we are now starting on two bedrooms. I also bought the 12" pine boards for a hall closet. One time they even cut the boards for us because they didn't have the length we needed. So much inventory there, and cheap!! Thank you so much! They also give a veteran discount for our military servicemen. Thank you. Recommend them...

Dusty,cold,dirty place. When you walk in there are two employees behind the counter updating Facebook. They don't say hello or try to help you. You kinda wander around looking at the same ol stuff that didn't sell 20 years ago. 1/2" dust on everything. 4 light bulbs on in the whole store. Don't waste your time here go somewhere else. I like to support local business,but these guys that work there just mad at the world. Turn some lights on also. Epstein didn't...
