My grandmother has been in golden hill in wing S1 after having 2 major strokes and losing all mobility in her left side on valentines day. She can't get up out of bed because she can't stand. For awhile she was using a bed pan but the nurses got tired of coming in everytime she had to go because she was ringing the bell so often. I told them that they needed to check her for a UTI she doesn't normally have to go that often. I was told that it wasn't necessary. Finally about a week and a half later they tested her because she was screaming in pain every time she peed. Sure thing she had a urinary tract infection. So after finding this out they started putting her in diapers so they didn't have to keep coming in. But the problem is now they don't change her enough. She will go 4 or 5 hours sometimes even longer at night till she has peed so much that she goes thru the diapers. No matter how many times she asks to be changed they do nothing just get mad that she's bothering them by ringing the bell. It's been 2 weeks of antibiotics and she still has a UTI. The antibiotics are.not working and when I say something about it I get shrugged off. It doesn't help her marinating in a wet diaper all of the time. It's been almost 2 weeks since they have showered her. Her bed and room smells like pee.
She's also a choking risk because she pockets food on her left side. The rehab has known this since the beginning and we told by the therapist she needs someone with her while she eats to guide her and no one ever comes in. A few times she has choked.
She is petrified a night. The nurses are mean and she has had a male nurse tell her multiple times that if she rings the bell again he is going to push her on the floor.
I could go on and on about this place. I understand about being understaffed but then you should be accepted patient's that you...
Read moreRenee Gallo was and is the best aid that my mom could ever have she’s patient she’s courteous she’s thoughtful. She genuinely shows and passion and I couldn’t be happier having it when she’s . I appreciate the care that my mom is getting she only had issues with one person there but overall she’s been very happy with the care. I’m grateful knowing that my mom has been taken care of. Well. Most importantly, Renee should be commended for her work. She’s amazing Renee Gallo is an asset to your company.
I would like to add Nya Correa, Aide and Nurse Lopez for the special caring attention provided for my mom. Naya was very very receptive. When my mom first arrived to the facility. It was such a good feeling to know that she would be in good hands. She always greets with a smile. She does great work and she makes you feel safe, leaving your parent at that facility.
Nurse Lopez is an exceptional nurse. He’s caring, polite considerate takes the time even when he’s busy with several patients he’s always very very pleasant to deal with and considerate to my mom as a patient. I feel safe when I see him at the facility because he will stop what he’s doing just to see what someone needs and support their loved ones, he’s a definite asset to your facility. I commend Ella and Lopez both for going above and beyond even with the hectic schedule the clinical needs require sincerely...
Read moreThe nursing home was abusive and neglectful. My grandfather was abused and neglected without professional care until I reached out to my aunt. This nursing home doctor told my grandfather that he was a waste of resources and should give up. The nurse abused my grandfather. Abandoned him even after weeks of Mother and I calling. The social worker ( a black lady a Caribbean descendant.) saw me in my grandfather's room after waking him up and yelling for him to confirm who I was. After my grandpa confirmed who I was she still questioned me about my reason for being there as if I was not allowed to be there. This lady was plain rude and tried to belittle my reason for being there after telling her this was my grandfather and he wanted me to be with him. I believe this facility disliked and saw him as a lost cause because his health declined drastically in their care and the hospital. My grandfather was a pure soul who needed help on getting better with the resources a nursing home provided and instead, that was a neglected impact till he was he was becoming weak. My grandfather's care in the hands of these two facilities was neglected. I was this facility to be investigated.
This is not everything. But enough to start...
