I was excited to stop in here and get some local produce on my trip through. I spent $130 on canned goods (which turned out NOT to be locally made), beef jerky which was just okay, tomatoes, cherries, and peaches which taste like they're from the grocery store - definitely NOT farm fresh or locally produced!!!! I even asked about how the peach crop was this year - I got snowballed. 🤨 Shelled pecans (again, NOT locally produced!!), chocolates and "coconut" cashews which were NOT homemade but packaged to look like it. I got fleeced like a traveler passing through. I travel through this area not infrequently. I will not stop here again. There's another produce stand a little farther west on the south side of the road. I'd suggest giving that one a shot. If I'm able to stop on my next trip, I will. If so, I'll post a review...
Read moreNot peach season when I stopped, but the plums were great. We also grabbed some pistachios and dried apricots, which were really sweet and tender. Best thing we found was the Vidalia onion and peach hot sauce, OMG, it goes well with everything, from soup to tacos. Room for semi or RV parking on roadside. Will definitely stop again next time we are on TX 287. Great little stop here, and you can find all sorts of pickled veggies, too. Gotta try some of those next time.
*Update...stopped by again today for more of the onion and peach hot sauce, it's worth the stop, all by itself. Also picked up a jar of peach butter and now that I've tried it in a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, I wish I'd bought more. This jar will disappear in no time. Oh, it will be so...
Read moreI stopped by today 3/31/2022. I had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with Troy. Such a unique place to stop, with a large assortment of seasonal fruits, apples, nuts, veggies, sauces, dressings, etc. Lots to choose from and they are so welcoming and nice. I got some pears, tomatoes and nectarines. They all look great and I can't wait to try them.
be aware that for now, they do not accept credit cards. Accordong to the owner, Once the new storefront is open, they will be able to take credit cards, but for now its cash only. Don't let that deter you, stop at atm and grab some cash. You will be glad...
