Harps Grocery is loaded with inventory and at this point in time of Covid they had everything someone going to the store would need up to and including prime rib. No empty shelves whatsoever. There were approximately 4-5 other people shopping there. It beats the hell out of the local Walmart Supercenter as far as variety up to and including ground beef, chuck and round. The bottom line is that Harp's is, at this time (10-11-20), the store in which to shop. It was actually a decent shopping experience. Few people, all wearing masks, and stocked to the top.
Update: 1-12-23
Still the place to shop. It's either this store or the Walmart Stupor Center. Harp's also now delivers orders via Instacart so you never have to change out of your pajamas if that's your thing. Still much better selection. In fact I bought two different types of jersey gloves that have been sold out at Walmart for over 3 months. They have many choices of the same thing instead of a single "take-it-or-leave-it" choice of frozen lasagna for example. The bottom line is if you're looking for groceries and don't want to wander around an aircraft hanger and find yourself wondering how on earth you ended up spending $250 when all you wanted was some...
Read moreI typically enjoy shopping here for affordable produce, they've raised their prices even before the economical collapse. It's sad to see that everything is priced so high, as I enjoy shopping here over Walmart for fresh produce.
Never used the bank here, but I did get some canned, lazy response about a year ago trying to do Western Union international transfer, go here for the produce.
Also don't buy anything out of their cafeteria, overpriced sandwiches with hardly any meat, and this is actually really sad to say, but their mac n cheese was so undercooked.. the hush puppies were so hard like they've sat out for 2 days (and probably were). The staff are generally really polite, other than the way their staff treat Western Union and food, I recommend you buy their fresh meat and vegetables/fruits as it's always better...
Read moreThis is a tough one for me. I go to Harp's mostly because there's gas here, and it's on my way to wherever.
BUT, the produce is really bad. Really, really, bad. The beef selections are 'select' at best. And their pricing strategy is.... Well.... For what I party for 'select' at Harp's, I can get 'prime' at Walmart.
Step up your produce game and let's see some duck, lamb, and good seafood options! Even if they are frozen, duck is amazing!
A plus is their egg and butter options. I love their eggs and butter. Take the pharmacy out and the banking options. Totally useless. Maybe throw a...
