Food Lion — Local services in Clayton

This new Food Lion is AWESOME. I've wanted an updated modern grocery store in Clayton for a long time and this food lion finally gave us one. Nice, updated and clean layout with plenty of food options. Has a nice produce cave, and offers some ready made food for easy dinner options. Has self check out and full check out and all of the staff were super friendly and helpful. So far, so good! Let's hope it stays that way. Typically they start out with a strong staff, and before long, corporate stops scrutinizing, the managers get lazy, the staff is no longer held to the standard, the store falls into disrepair. If you've been into other Food Lions, you know what I'm talking about. Heck, I saw a manager get chewed out by a cashier at the one on 70 in Clayton....

I went in to be checked out, and the employee bagged all of my items, placed them into a cart, and then told me I couldn’t take that cart. Instead, I had to remove everything and transfer it into another cart. This process makes no sense, why put my items into a cart I’m not allowed to use?
