A couple weeks back a few business partners of mine decided to play a round of golf at Rabun Co. Golf Club. We usually play at Kingwood when visiting but decided to support a smaller public course. We we're in no hurry so we would stop along the way to relax and take in the scenery of the pretty landscape. We let numerous people play through and did not slow up any other players. On the last hole we were going to video tape a birdie putt with the slow motion camera feature of a cell phone. Not only we're we the only golfers on the 9th hole but, we didn't see any other golfers at all. With that being said I was very surprised when the old guy working in the pro shop stepped outside on the second story balcony and yelled for us to hurry up and putt. I still can't believe how unprofessional that was. Before that rude man opened his mouth we intended to aquire about membership costs for our company's board members. I hate it for the owner of the golf course but that rude worker is why I'm...
Read moreFun little course. I paid $12 to walk 18 holes. There are only 9 holes but two sets of tees on each hole. Lots of hills, #3 is a rather difficult par 3, uphill about 180 yards to a green that if missed left will roll down about 50 feet below the green. Both par 5s are fine. Hole 7 is a little quirky, it is about 240 yards, the first 140 straight, then the last 100 or so all carry to a green that is about 75 feet above where you are hitting the ball. #17 a par 4, #8 is a par 3, goes down that same hill and is a reachable par 4 if you know where to hit it. The last hole gives you a great tee shot as the fairway is about 100 feet below the tee box. Fun little course as I mentioned earlier, I will...
Read moreThis is a prime example of a little country golf course. What they lack in facalities, they make up for in knowledge of the game, which they will pass on to you, if you ask. I go there when I need to work on my game. The course is somewhat short, but it makes up for it's shortness with some great layouts. It is great to help getting your game in shape for tournaments. The ONLY drawback is it is only nine holes, but they have different sets of tees to address this problem. They are in the process of building new facilities. The only reason they get four stars, is because it is...
