This is a unique place in the Sawtooth National Forest. I spent quite a few of my summers up here with a friend whose Dad had a gold mine claim near this Hot Springs. This is a historic and unique setting situated along the Salmon River. The cauldron that sits here now was moved from its previous site at boat Box Hot Springs and is now part of the various pools that you can choose from. The changing rooms are located just up the path from the Hot Springs near the parking lot. It's a popular Hot Springs because of its convenient location.... well convenient compared to most. Enjoy your soak. As always, leave no trace, leave it better than you found...

I was so glad I pulled over at the right stop. Google maps says it’s on the left of the road, but it’s not. I didn’t find any pools along the River varying in temperatures. From where I parked It was a steep climb down on dirt to get down to the tubs. I couldn’t figure out the other way to get there. But I made it down. And the tub on the left kept draining, never getting full for some reason. I did enjoy a little time to myself in the tub on the right before I saw more people coming to enjoy it. Highly recommend wearing chacos to hike down and...

Easy access off the highway. There is a pit toilet that can be used for changing clothes. The hot water comes out of a culvert under the highway and runs into the river. There are a few pipes placed along the shore to redirect the hot water. There are a number of small pools along the rivers edge to sit in. We found that you needed to constantly swirl the water around you, or else you tended to be hot on one side and cold on the other. Fun spot - and the...

2 different areas of springs. We enjoyed the side with the tubs, as the seating areas are a bit deeper. The other side is shallower but easier to get to, no need to climb down a steep hill. This side we went to runs HOT, be prepared. To use the tubs, you'll need a bucket to add river water or it's too hot to sit in the tubs.

Had an epic soak in the lower tub. I enjoy the less sulfur smell on the left side with the tubs. Nice that there is more parking and changing rooms. God’s creation was showing off. You can share the water-tubes to make one or the other tub hotter. Be careful as one tube is piping hot! Amazing soak.
