The off-road trail from Chimney Mountain Road to the top of Tray Mountain is closed and has been closed for years. If you want to go to the top of Tray mountain, you must go up Tray Mountain Road. Then come down Indian grave gap Road or Corbin Creek Road. A sedan can make it to the top if you go up Corbin Creek road in dry conditions, but your car will probably hate you. Clearance and AWD is recommended. Do not take a sedan up Tray mountain road. It will not make it without sustaining damage.

Once you’ve reached the trailhead, the 2.5 mile hike is moderately strenuous with several nice areas to stop along the way.
