My 6 yr old son really wanted me to stop at the rock shop as we saw the sign driving by so we did. It has a lot of stuff and my son was loading me down with so many different rocks and goodies. I really couldn’t say no to him about much so we ended up purchasing many rocks and gems. However, in the shuffle of everything we didn’t get a bag of gems that we paid for. I distinctly remember the gal loading a handful of these small marble sized one into a velvet bag and telling she would charge me a fixed price while ringing them up. Among others that were first put on the table and rung up we didn’t receive. I didn’t realize they were missing as we traveled to E. Washington, my son was dropped at his grandmas and we didn’t look inside the bags all weekend. Once I came back to pick him up we realized some were missing but I thought maybe they got put somewhere else in my car. When I got home I emptied my car and they were no where to be found. The bags never left my car during the trip so I know they didn’t get misplaced anywhere else. I called and called and called this shop. They picked up once and i told them I think I left a bag of paid for rocks there, they said they would ask and get back to me but never did. Ive called several times since then they don’t answer my call or return my voicemail so I’m forced to leave this review. I spent 330$ probably 75$ of it I didn’t receive! Very disappointed with this service and will be skeptical to go back. Make sure you have everything you paid for when you leave, or you...
Read moreHeard so many great things about this place. They certainly have a ton of awesome stuff to look at. Just be careful of the inside part of the store, it’s all gift shop style stuff. I had thought most of things in there were cute handmade souvenirs but later found out that most of the things I purchased were actually synthetic made stones or just straight plastic. I had gotten direction from the person at the front counter that the necklaces were made of certain stones. I came across the exact ones on Amazon for a multipack for the price they charged for one. I was told some of the things made she did herself. Im now doubting that. Im new to the whole rockhounding and gems thing, that was certainly taken advantage of. Especially after mentioning it, seemed like she had more things to show and offer. Lesson learned. Good for looking at or purchasing rocks that you don’t want to dig for.
UPDATE: Thank you for reaching out. I do appreciate it. We traveled pretty far so I wouldn’t be able to return any time soon. It was just a bummer to find out after spending nearly $100 on things that I was told were certain stones and one of the items she said she made herself. Not synthetics. Mistakes happen. I’ve learned. I changed my review to a 2 star instead of 1 star because of your attempt to correct...
Read moreDo not miss this rock shop! It is a hidden gem in the cascades. I’m from Oregon and this is the first rock shop I have found that sells Ellensburg blue and Holly blue. Both are incredibly rare, and absolutely beautiful. I had to leave a review for this rock shop because not only are they the closest rock shop in a 40 mile radius to where we are staying, their communication is top tier, and they went out of their way to ensure we could make it to their shop even though the road was closed due to adjacent wildfires. We spent a good two hours browsing, chatting, and walking around their selection. We left with some beautiful Holly blues, a Ellensburg blue piece I will wear everyday, and a nice big piece of green/blue chert that my partner plans to flint knap. They gave us amazing deals and were so patient with me while I tried on jewelry and mulled over my decisions. I wish I could come here everyday, but even getting the opportunity to go once makes it all the...
