Let me start by saying this scrap yard in the past has been fair and helpful. However, the past two times I’ve went here the guy in the garage has been rude and condescending. The first time I brought some converters and he said it wasn’t worth their time. This past time I brought some tin, aluminum: cans, dirty, and insulated wire, #2 copper, steel unprepared and prepared. I dropped the tin first as I usually do and asked the guy out there if the steel I had was unprepared or prepared. He said most likely either prepared or pay as electric motor as it was a torn down electric motor. I figured great either way is more than a regular unprepared price. So I got reweighed and went to the garage, not only did they pay the steel as tin but they also didn’t pay me at all on the copper tubing or aluminum insulated wire and dirty aluminum. If I had to guess they probably paid that as tin as well from what I could gather on the receipt. The shop worker was very rude. Their scales are off or they purposely change the weight. I weighed copper before I went in and when I got to the office to get my money the slip said it was 22 lbs lighter than it should have been. I weighed it on 2 different scales before I went in so I know. I will not be going there again and I advise anyone else to be careful. Scrap is up so if you go make sure you know what it weighs cause they are gonna do it as long as they can I’m sure as long as their are no complaints so...
