Went on a docent led snow hike here last week thru Lelenau Conservancy. Excellent hike, a number of docents present with a wealth of information on Palmer Woods and the conservancy as a whole. Trails are beautiful here and plentiful. LOVE that they have dedicated separate (and marked) trails for hiking/snowshoeing/skiing and then for biking. Hikers don't want to be in the path of bikes and bikers don't want to always have to worry about running into people around every curve. The fact that the bike paths are set up as flow trails sounds wonderfully relaxing and fun. Will have to try those next. And that they change the direction of those bike paths from clockwise to counterclockwise on different days makes them much safer and will be interesting to try them out in both directions. Nice parking area and a few porta...
Read moreAwesome mountain biking trails for all levels!! The small warm up trail right by the entrance to the parking lot was perfect for our youngest rider. (From easiest to hardest) Ursa Minor, Ursa Major, Acer, and Enlightener were all well maintained trails of perfect lengths as you can do as many loops as you want for your experience level. They also have a bike fixing station with all the tools you would need. Plenty of Port-o-potties which were all pretty clean. We were there in mid July and did not have any issues with bugs. Lots of shade and friendly people. We really...
Read moreThese trails are a welcome sight to the area! They provide riding that is more than just the typical XC trails that are abundant (an awesome as well). The trails are very well marked and the technical features are all options. What this means is that if you want to be safe (and not take the marked “black trail” options) your tires will never leave the ground and you will have no dangers, just like the other XC trails in the area. These trails are no different than what you would find in the likes of Copper Harbor or Bentonville,AR. Thanks again for expanding what a...
