So I moved to Tennessee in 2017 and decided hey I want to go back to school to finish nursing. Well fall of 2018 I APPLIED didn't look into deadlines seeing as my prior college was a one class per month type of thing straight out of high school, so I went ahead and applied. Well had to get my transcripts from Illinois, so i called and sent off for them. They came in the mail and I made the mistake of opening them. Well Cleveland State said they had to be sealed so once again I called and got another copy sent. Well a couple days later a lady in the admissions department told me "the transcripts will not make it in time and classes are in a day or so it would be best to try to reapply in the spring." (2019) So I did just that APPLIED and got started with classes. Well I had to quit school due to my then 2 year old daughter health issues. So I tried to reapply again that fall (2019). Well I was told I no longer qualified for Financial Aid and would have to pay out of pocket until I can get a GPA. (At the time I wasn't working my husband was I didn't want him to have to pay all the bills along with my schooling.) So I told the lady it says you have one semester you can pretty much tank and still qualify for the next. Well she goes to tell me I was in a warning status, (Which I was never told) because I ENROLLED in FALL of 2018 and never started classes. I told her "I'm new to the state and thought hey I want to go back to school so I applied then. I never enrolled or even picked classes nor got a schedule!?! I was told by the office to come back in the spring and try again." She goes on to tell me "Well there's nothing we can due seeing as you were in the warning status and did not start, you will have to apply and pay until you achieve a GPA." That bummed me out because when I did go back in spring 2019 I was never made aware of any of that information by my counselor. Not only that I had already did almost 2 years at prior school and the credits didn't transfer (accreditation system was different) so I was going to be starting all over even though I could have challenged it in court or something they...
Read morewent here for 3 semesters. Honestly, I didn’t like it. The teachers I had in (ECE) weren’t great. It was always a wonder if they were going to show up on time or even be inside the classroom. Sometimes they were on video call which I didn’t like at all. I also took some online classes and it wasn’t beneficial at all. I decided to transfer schools because I just didn’t like it. I don’t think the teachers truly cared and everything was majorly rushed inside...
Read moreGreat school!! I have two children attending and playing baseball. The staff and coaches are caring and professional. Starting college in the middle of all of the pandemic confusion has been hard but CSCC has gone above and beyond to make the transition easier, which is more than I can say for a much larger state university just a few counties away!(I have a senior there) Thank you Cleveland State! I highly...
