Let me start by saying my mother owned A hungarian restaurant in Ohio in the 80s and was a professional chef and this is not quality food. And I know my food because i'm a fantastic cook myself. I'm upset i'm disappointed, it dampened our Anniversary!Let's start with the fact that there was no hospitality and we were never waited on by any waitress while we were there other than to take our order. We waited for our 5 year anniversary to go to this place. We were there to celebrate our anniversary. The owners the waitresses were aware of this but they did nothing to make us feel special for our special night. There was a light flickering that was like a strobe light so beware if you have seizures,There was a pile of stagnant water beside me on the floor that smelled, No rolls and butter were included unless you purchased their cheese board. The wait was pretty long. The hot pop came in a can. When the steaks came out which were fillet mingons , they were more like tenderloins , they were Covered in fat No flavor not cooked properly.Just sitting there on a plate with blood around it even though I ordered it medium well. My potato tasted Boiled and had a big black rotted spot in it so I couldn't eat that. The bacon bits were so Stale that they gave you to put on the potato. They could break a window. It was hot in there. The hostess never told us about specials or anything Not friendly! Were treated like bums off the street. flies everywhere. We didn't order any desert, nor were we asked if we wanted it, the food was so bad already. And yet the bill was a hundred and eight dollars. Save your money and go to McDonald's.I hate McDonald's, but it's better than this place.I'm so Disheartened and upset by this experience. It may have been the best restaurant in 2022 But it's the worst in 2024, im from Ohio, I've eaten all over the world this was bad. I guess they got rid of their Chef from England. Cafeteria food at its best. Maybe pre-made and microwaved, that's how it tasted. I don't mind spending that kind of money when there's quantity and quality and a good experience but this was horrible.I think the lack of hospitality hurt my feelings the most, ruined my celebration, baddd food.Save your money go somewhere where they're living on the current status of their food not the status from 2022!!!!!! #🤮😡💔 Go somewhere where they actually appreciate you and your business. I'm pissed. This should have been special and tasty and...
Read moreThis was such a neat little property! The food was delicious, and everyone was so friendly. This is a great place to have dinner then drinks while watching the sunset, and what a view! It's cozy, unique, well-kept and clean. It's worth the drive, just be sure to visit on a day with good weather and temps so you can enjoy the outdoor seating areas and the sunset. If the weather isn't great, the building attached to the bar has space to hang out and talk for sure! It would be really great if they added some yard games around the bar building and a collection of board and card games inside. Perhaps they have these and I missed them, though. There is a lot of indoor space to play a game and share a cheeseboard with friends. The hamburger meat is ground in-house, and it's so tender and tastes really good. The steak was great, breaded catfish was a bit dry and heavy on the breading but still had good flavor, shrimp was tasty, and the cheeses and bread on the cheese board were SO good! I think a little extra bread served with the cheese would've been ideal, as there was a lot of cheese compared to bread. Maybe some crackers even? The firecracker margarita was served martini style, and it wasn't what any of us expected, so perhaps a little more info for diners would help them make a more informed decision about their drink choice, pictures would be great! This place wouldn't be ideal for someone who has difficulty navigating uneven ground, but I definitely would NOT say that it's dangerous or anything, just rocky,a bit sloped, and therr are a number of thresholds that need to be navigated a bit more carefully by some individuals. The bathrooms are in the basement of the large building, so if stairs are difficult for anyone, perhaps ask to be seated downstairs for easier restroom access since there's a ramp on the west side that leads to the lower level. I have some family members for whom this info would be incredibly helpful, so I included it for others who may have to consider such things as well. The naturally-occuring rock wall in the basement was a fun surprise, and I loved all the dog art and photos! We look forward to going back again, and this time we'll plan to stay a bit longer and enjoy ourselves even more! You can tell they all work really hard to serve their customers well, and we felt welcome and valued. Thanks for a great place to celebrate a birthday and an anniversary, we're so glad we made the drive out...
Read moreBeen to the White Dog several times over the last 10 years, usually with a large group, and it’s always been good. This time it was a couples date. Things started well, ordered a cheese board and our drinks. The other three drinks took in excess of 30 minutes, my Long Island took over 45 minutes. The cheese board came fairly quick and was good. They didn’t return to take our orders for the main course for 45 minutes. The waitress started by telling us the special and then said, but I’m pretty sure we’re out. We then had all planned to order ribeyes which she told us they were also out of….. every size apparently. The men settled for NY strips while the wives got the chicken and pork chops. The steaks were good, cooked medium rare, as ordered. They were a little fatty but still good. The chicken, not great. The pork chop dry and with the fat, not much edible meat. My wife’s broccoli was cold, as well as her baked potato and not cooked all the way through. My potatoes were ok, my asparagus flavor was fine but it was also cold. It appears that they have lost some long standing employees with the new ownership. Some familiar faces out there are gone. The bartender didn’t seem to know how to make drinks with is probably the reason for the delay. For the drink prices my LIT was just ok. The Old Fashioned is only 2 sips at best for $8. We were hoping for a “once a year” expensive dinner and at least get a little buzzed. Turned out to be expensive, and not a great experience. We won’t be back, not when I’m paying...
