I purchased three 6" caliper October glory maple trees in late October 2013. in spring of 2014 two of the trees failed to bloom and one sparsely bloomed. The landscaper spoke to Jeff, the owner of Victoria nursery, and was told someone from the nursery had to see the trees before he could consider replacing them. After two months went by I went to see Jeff, showed him 6 color photos of the dead trees and he told me the same thing, "that he had to see the trees". After waiting 2 more weeks, now 3 months past the first complaint, and hearing nothing but "I have to see the trees", I sent him a letter wherein I advised that he had 2 weeks in which to see the trees, after which I would have the trees removed, and have 2 new trees planted and would then sue for the money spent in replacing the trees. One week later 2 Victoria employees came to see the dead trees and tried to intimate that the trees were planted wrong which is why they died. However one hour later the nursery called my landscaper to advise him that he can have 2 new trees from the stock they had. Eventually I did receive 2 new 3" caliper trees, as replacement for my 6" caliper trees I had originally paid for. Most reputable nurseries provide a 1 year warrantee against defective products. Victoria Nursery is NOT a reputable nursery because they do not readily stand behind their product and if you do purchase anything there be sure to get a WRITTEN guarantee and for a specific time frame, because if you do have a bad product you will go thru hell trying to get...
Read moreWe purchased 12 Green Giant trees, the trees seem fine. We explained the owner the situation that we are planting the trees after old trees were removed and stumps grinded. The owner seems knowledgable, and he recommended to wait for the new shipment of the trees, which was worth it. We asked if they do planting, and were offered to do the planting by the delivery stuff, which is not affiliated with the nursery itself. The price the delivery wanted was half the cost of a tree. It was probably the biggest mistake dealing with them. Never hire anyone from the nursery to do the planing, do it yourself or hire a landscaper. 3 delivery people showed up without calling on a Sunday night, and started asking for much more money to do the work b/c they found some wood chips from the removed trees. I asked if the work would be different if I pay more, and the guy just mentioned that it will be guaranteed and they will pay 50% for the cost of the tree, since the nursery is not giving any guarantee for the trees, but the work will be the same. Reading more about planting the trees, I think, the holes they planted the trees in were not big enough, and really hope the trees will survive. We bought 1 more tree, and I planted it myself, without any issues, into a bigger hole. So, please, use proper landscapers to plant the tree, and never use the delivery stuff from the nursery to plant. I will update review as the trees...
Read moreVictorias is my go to nursery. Their quality, selection and guidance is top of class. Ive only known the staff to be lovely ppl. Theres a language comprehension issue with a few so they're quiet...but never rude. I've bought everything from them..trees, shrubs, flowers, tools, mulch, topsoil...you name it. You can't beat the quality of their products. If theyre not happy with something coming off the truck...they've refused to sell it to me. The owner throws in EXCELLENT design help FOR FREE...NO ONE DOES THAT. My yard is beautiful and its 100% because of Victorias. They are a great family business. Some of these comments ive read are shocking as they don't reflect what I've seen AT ALL over several years of weekly visits.
Now, the owner doesn't wear a mask...thats true. I think he believes because he's outside IN CONSTANT motion its not necessary. Not justifying just giving an honest account of what I've seen. Thankfully there are other staffers wearing masks who are very knowledgeable. When I work with the owner I'm simply masked. You can't walk inside anymore so they have no contact with ppl...
