I ordered 2 bookshelves July 1st. I asked for a shipping update July 20th, and Jerry explained that it was too soon to know a ship date, but that the projects were running 4-6 weeks out. August 13th I inquired about a shipping date, as it had been 6 weeks and I still had received no information. Jerry responded
âNo I really donât have any updates for youâ
He quoted 4-6 weeks, and was unable to deliver a shipping date by the 6 week mark- or even supply a possible shipping time, I would have been MORE than willing to wait longer, if he could have said âyou will have your order by _.â He was either unwilling or unable to commit to the work. I expressed my dissatisfaction and disputed the charge with my credit card company. Several days later he said heâd refund me. I had already handled the situation with my credit card company. 8/21 I get an email from Jerry: âI see that you didnât believe me when I told you that I cancelled and refunded your order in full. You helped yourself to a self-refund by calling your credit company and complaining. I have ALREADY refund your order. Now your credit card has STOLEN yet another $378.00 from my bank account. Now I have to waste hours of my time playing paperwork games with them to get my money back. This means somebody else wonât be getting their bookcases today. And now you wonder why it takes me so long to make a bookcase.
I told you I would refund you, and I did that.
Jerryâ

Read moreWe ordered a bookcase at the beginnining of the COVID pandemic. Because of that, it took longer than expected to arrive. When I emailed to inquire about when it would arrive, I always got an email back with an explanation. I was satisfied with this becuase of COVID and because of the quick response to my emails. On my second email to them, they shipped my bookcase rushed because it had taken longer than expected and they did this without my asking. I feel I got good service during a tough time. Also, when we got the bookcase it was in good shape and also very pretty when put together. A solid wood bookcase that is 82 inches high for less than $300 and made in the USA? Fantastic. I recommend this company because they are manufacturing quality products that are HARD to find in the USA. They are also delivering quality for a VERY fair price and helping our biosphere (environmentally friendly) instead of hurting it. Even the packaging had minimal foam. and was mostly recyclable. Congratulations to them, they deserve support. If you are ok with being patient for it to arrive and also with putting it together, which is simple but not necessarily really easy (you may need a smaller screw driver which can get into tight spaces. We had one which made it easier to put on the mouldings on the sides of the front of the bookcase) then it is entirely worth it. Just have patience. Thank you so much...
Read moreFirst, I will say that the production lead time on this product is loooong. Three-and-a-half months for me (including the holidays). There is not a lot of proactive communication about order updates either. But Woodland Mills does respond quickly to questions.
Why the five stars? This is a very high quality, high value product for the price. It is not IKEA grade whatsoever. It uses similar design, but the materials far exceed IKEA quality. The pine boards are flawlessly finished and the joint connector nuts, screws, and pegs are steel (not plastic or pot metal). The back isn't paper, but 5/8 in. pine. It's beautiful. The instructions are very clear and the packaging was perfect. There is pride in the design and manufacture of this product.
It clearly states on the website that the shelves need to be assembled and finished with stained, so I was expecting that, and honestly, for the price, I'm 100% okay with it. Prebuilt and stained shelves are 3x the price and don't look any better.
I would recommend these to my...
