I was extremely disappointed with the service and quality of work done at Bedrock Jewelers.
I stopped by on Thursday March 17th with my engagement ring that needed to be re-sized and have the prongs re-tipped, a silver bracelet that needed 5 links soldered, and a gold necklace that needed the jump rings replaced. I was told the work would be completed in a week.
I stopped by a little over a week later and was told my items were not ready but would definitely be ready on Thursday the 31st. When I stopped by on the 31st, I was told they were still not ready and it would be on Tuesday, the 5th. However on the 5th, they were still not ready and on the 7th I was told they were on the polishing bench and almost done. I was finally able to get them on the 8th.
When I got my items was extremely disappointed: My engagement ring had not been resized. To which he said "no problem that only takes 3 minutes" and went into the back room and resized my ring. He had my items for just over 3 weeks and then was able to resize my ring in minutes. Unfortunately you can see where the ring was worked on and there is a different thickness where he cut the band. I've had rings resized before and never been able to see the evidence that they were worked on. Additionally I have other "cuts" and marks on my ring that were not there when I dropped it off. I now need to take my ring to another jeweler to fix and repair the work that was done at Bedrock.
The necklace: The owner suggested that instead of using rings on the necklace to replace it with a gold bail so the links wouldn't wear so much on the chain. I agreed, however, I had no idea that what I would get back was a white gold bail on a 14Kt gold pendant. I'm sorry I agreed since it also meant he cut of the hand forged gold ring that was on top of the pendant. I now have a 2 tone piece that is very different from what I expected and makes the pendant look cheap.
The bracelet: The links were soldered although the owner unilaterally decided to replace the clasp with a cheap looking standard lobster claw clasp that is not only difficult to use but totally changes the look of the bracelet. When I asked about the clasp I was told that the original one was "worn out" (although it worked fine) and that if I wanted a similar style to the original clasp he could put one on but there was an upcharge for that style of clasp. Given the above mentioned quality issues, I'll have someone else replace the clasp back to the original style.
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend...
Read moreBeware! Brought a ring here to have a custom setting done. Brian the person that works at or owns Bedrock, not sure, was nice, but talked very fast. Brian said he always estimates conservatively and gave a max time of 4 weeks. After 4 weeks, placed a phone call and asked Brian for an update. He was rude and said, it takes time. It is what it is. You'll have the ring on your finger for the rest of your life. That is his favorite saying by the way. After a few more phone calls to Brian, he gave the same answer. At about the 7 week mark, Brian said the setting was cast and ready to be mounted. But, it's worth the wait, you'll have the ring on your finger for the rest of your life.....Brian was rude and condescending. We still have the voice mail message when Brian said the setting is ready to go...NOT. That was not the truth at all. Brian called and left a message saying my ring was placed in a drawer at the company doing the work and was being held there for an authorization to work on the ring this whole time and nothing was done. That was after numerous phone calls to Brian and Brian saying they are working on the ring and it is what it is, but you'll have the ring on your finger for the rest of your life. That was also after he left a message saying the setting was cast and ready to be completed. When we finally picked up the ring some 12 weeks later, I asked if he was lying about the ring being cast and ready almost a month ago? All Brian said was, that was "misinformation". Brian even had the audacity to be rude when I picked up my ring. I have documentation to back up this review. I also have stories from other people I've talked to about Brian/Bedrock Jewelers. Stories of Brian telling customers their watch batteries "can't be replaced" and if he could, the battery would cost more than a new watch....I would stay away from this business and go someplace else. After I received my ring, I took my diamond certification to Fred Myer across the street. The person at Fred Meyer was very professional and tested my diamond against my certificate. I was assured the diamond in my ring was a real diamond, but because of the new setting obscuring the entire diamond, it was to difficult to determine if it was the exact diamond. I will take all my future jewelry work to Fred Myer and NOT...
Read moreI am extremely disappointed with the service of Bedrock Jewelers. I stopped by on Friday 3/17/2017 to get four rings re-sized, and I was told the will be ready the following week 3/24/2017. I stopped by on 3/24/2017 and I was told that they haven’t even started on my rings get. I stopped by on 3/30/2017 again and I was told that they had some equipment breakdown, and was told my items were not ready but would definitely be ready on Thursday 4/3/2017. I stopped by on 4/10/2017 and I was told my rings are all re-sized but I can have them yet because they still have to clean them. I told Bedrock Jewelers that I will take the rings anyway and clean them myself, but Bedrock Jewelers refused to give my rings, and told me to comeback later. I also gave them an extra ring that they can use to melt the gold if they need extra gold to resize my rings. I am not sure if they have lost or sold my rings. Every time I walk in to Bedrock Jeweler they have a different excuse why my rings are not ready for pickup. I stopped by on 4/12/2017 to pickup my rings, and Bedrock Jewelers acted like they have never seen me before, after I presented my receipt for the rings Bedrock Jewelers generated another receipt and charge me an additional $50.00 claiming that I have dropped off an additional ring for resizing, however, Bedrock Jewelers were unable to tell me when this occurred or on what date. Also, there is no way that I will drop off an additional ring without a receipt. I have pictures of the rings that were dropped off plus the original receipt from Bedrock Jewelers. Bedrock Jewelers did return the extra ring that I gave them to use if they need extra gold, note that that ring did not need resizing because it was already at the correct size. In other words I Bedrock Jewelers charge me $50.00 extra for a ring that did not need resizing and was not resized either. I have never experience such dishonesty from a company in my life, it make one wonder how they stay in business. I DO NOT RECOMMEND...
