Bought some earrings today with their buy 3 get 3 deal, but am wishing I would have walked out without spending a dime because of the absolutely awful customer service I experienced!! Didn't catch the girls name but I believe she may have been a manager based on the conversation I overheard between her and another employee (whom was very kind and helpful, and the only reason this post got 2 stars instead of 1).
As a fellow retail worker, the way I was treated today was absolutely unacceptable, unnecessary, and just plain rude . The only reason I didn't say anything to the worker right then was because I was so uncomfortable and appalled that I wanted to get out of the store with as little interaction as possible - it very evident by her tone and demeanor that she did not want me there!
I believe that I may have upset her by making the mistake of trying a pair of earrings - totally my bad, super unhygienic I realize, i did it without really thinking about it 😅 I apologized profusely when she said something and purchased that pair of earrings of course! It was an honest mistake, but clearly didnt sit well with her.... from that point on while I was deciding what other earrings to buy, I was met with glares, eye rolls, offputting body language, a condescending tone, and just complete and utter rudeness from that particular employee. Each time I asked a question, and again when I was making my purchase, she was extremely short and spoke to me like I was a child, with 0 respect or kindness. She did tell me to have a good day as I was leaving, but even that was said with bitterness in her tone :/ If the goal was to be disrespectful and make me feel entirely unwelcome in her store, she succeeded! I rarely shop at Claire's anyway, but will not be returning to this one anytime soon.
I was trying to give the girl the benefit of the doubt because you never know what kind of day someone is having, but the more I reflected on my experience the more wished I would've said something. The bottom line is, all customers should be treated with kindness, courtesy, and respect (unless they do something that warrants otherwise), and my experience today was the exact opposite.... amd that seems to be the pattern based on the other reviews I have read. Thank you for the jewelry, but please work on the customer...
Read moreMy 9 year old daughter got her ears pierced at Claire's in CDA in December, she wanted to pay for it herself, it was $80 for the 18k gold earrings (I'm not sure, but wondering if they're not good quality) the girls were friendly and did a good job, but she was told she can change her earnings in 3 weeks. At the 3 week mark my daughter was asking to change them, she had been cleaning them 3 times a day for 3 weeks, I was hesitant, and told her to wait another week, so she did. A week later she changed her earnings for just a few hours, cleaned her ears and put her 18 gold? Earnings back in. A few days later they started to get red and look infected. We tried to clean her ears well. And then overnight, the extremely small gem on her earnings was embedded in her ear, the skin healed over the top. The earnings seemed way too tight, possibly the posts were too short? Or because her ears were swollen. Those earnings were not good for ear piercing and costs my 9 year old $80! We were finally able to remove the earnings last night because the infection got so bad they had to come out. The earing came out through the back hole, since the front was healed over the stud. I do not recommend Claire's for ear piercing, and would like them to tell people to wait at least 6-8 weeks until they piercings have healed before changing earnings in the future.
Update: Customer service was not helpful after wasting my time of emailing pictures and recipts. After being directed to contact customer service. They need to better educate their staff and I don't believe their earings are good quality. Customer service just wasted my time further. They told me they were sorry but I signed a waiver and there's a risk of infection, embedding,...
Read morePLEASE DON’T GET YOUR EARS PIERCED AT CLAIRES! Go to a tattoo or piercing place.
We went here to get my sister’s ears pierced. The lady marked it and said if you don’t like it I’ll mark it as many times as we need to get it right. My sister said she wanted it further up and the lady marked it further back instead of further up so my sister tried to explain where she wanted it and the lady just gave up and went and got another lady to come do it. They were nice but seemed to lack the patience and understanding needed to actually get it right. My sister walked out with her piercings a whole milliliter off, it’s noticeably crooked and she is extremely disappointed because she got her ears pierced for her wedding and now they’re going...
