Beware of the “warranty”!
What I got was a humiliating, accusatory process that felt more like a CSI crime scene than customer service.
After filing a legitimate warranty claim for a mattress with a clear structural defect, their “team” showed up, backed a truck up like they were about to do the right thing—then entered my home and broke out a black light, as if they were about to dust for fingerprints. One of them even said it was “one of the worst” they’d seen. Really? I didn’t realize Comfort City was also in the forensic science business.
My claim wasn’t denied because the mattress didn’t qualify. No—it was denied because something glowed under UV light. That’s the level we’re operating on.
Then came the contradictions: – “Federal law” supposedly banned them from taking the mattress back. – I was told I needed a mattress protector or the warranty was void.. Not true and the "team" later denied saying that.. – And then I was accused of lying on the claim form.
When I didn’t just roll over, they reluctantly sent a replacement—tagged “prototype,” no paperwork, no proof of value—and called it a favor. Comfort City didn’t apologize. They rewrote the whole situation, questioned my honesty, and ended with the cherry on top: a demand that I apologize to their entire staff. That’s not customer service. That’s gaslighting with a smile.
If you enjoy detective work, being accused of fraud, and condescending lectures from mattress dealers—this place might be for you. Otherwise, spend your money somewhere that values customers more than cover stories.
Be ready for the gaslighting respoce from Kimberly...
My response to Kimberly as the gaslighting prediction was spot on.
I never imagined that reporting a warranty concern would result in a public character attack, but here we are.
Comfort City has now publicly accused me of submitting false information and even claimed—without evidence—that my mattress was covered in “feces" Not only is this inflammatory and humiliating, but it’s an absolutely wild way to respond to a customer who was simply navigating a confusing and frustrating warranty process.
For the record: – I submitted the warranty claim in good faith. – I did not “falsify” anything. I answered the questions honestly to the best of my knowledge. – No one deserves to be spoken about this way—publicly or privately—by a business, let alone by its owner.
Rather than address my concerns with professionalism, this company chose to double down by publicly shaming a customer and throwing around disgusting accusations in an attempt to discredit me. If this is how they treat people who raise a concern, imagine how they handle someone else.
If you’re reading this review trying to decide where to buy your next mattress, just ask yourself: Do I want to deal with a company that handles disputes by publicly accusing customers of lying and calling them unsanitary in a Google review?
This wasn’t about policy. This was about pride, defensiveness, and retaliation. It was about money and that should tell you everything you...
Read moreI was on the hunt for a mattress that would help me with my medical conditions and I had a budget. I went to a couple of the local stores and all of them were wanting to sell me something that was far beyond my budget and when trying the mattress hurt my body immediately. I almost gave up! I decided to walk in to Comfort City. This was the best decision I have ever made. Danny greeted me at the door. Had been in there a couple year’s earlier looking for my kids. Danny had a smile and I immediately told him what I was looking for and that I had a budget. He asked me questions. I told him my experience with the other stores. He looked at me and told me the hard facts. Bottom line is that what I wanted and what I needed were two different things. The other stores didn’t have his knowledge at all!!! Comfort City is a generational business that knowledge has been passed down through time. I bought a mattress that he suggested and I laid there for awhile to see if I was in pain. I wasn’t. The mattress and delivery was all in my budget. I bought the mattress that he manufactures and it’s made in the USA with USA materials. AND he delivered the mattress the next morning. (I live 40 miles away). I waited a couple weeks to write this review. I wanted to see how the mattress felt. I can honestly say it’s the best mattress I have EVER slept on!!!!! Danny is awesome!!! He isn’t a pushy salesman. He owns the business and only lays out the facts! He lets you make the decision. He sells brand names as well. I will take this mattress over any other brand. I will recommend his mattresses anytime someone asks me. And dealing with Danny was a definite plus! Thank you Danny for helping me get a good...
Read moreComfort City was my first and LAST stop! I recently got the Pend Oreille Firm mattress, a popular model from their own line-up, and me and my back couldn't be happier!! It has been such an upgrade.
Danny and Autumn were there, friendly and knowledgeable throughout the mattress buying experience. I was given plenty of time to try out their wide selection of mattresses and really hem and haw to find that right one. I felt like there were a few really great options, actually. The mattress again has been so amazing in its quality and comfort.
Not only has the quality been there in the mattress itself, but the service and experience I had you simply can't get elsewhere or online. That kind of customer service and product expertise, I can't stress enough how helpful that was and the whole team was from the moment I walked in their door to the moment the delivery guys exited ours.
The delivery was on time, as scheduled, with ample heads up, despite a big holiday sale, by the way. Shout out to Levi. He and his co-worker whose name I didn't catch were friendly and careful with the delivery.
I did prior shopping and research and ultimately I'm so glad I went with instinct and didn't purchase online and instead decided to shop local! It saved me sooo much time and I know I got such a better deal and value.
I hope this family owned business will be there for many more years to come so I can be a returning customer of theirs.
Thank you...
