I rarely write reviews however After years of being loyal edgie veggie customer I was treated rudely by the owner today and likely will not go back - although their food is yummy.
Serval months ago I talked to the owner about how nice it would be if she would offer a kid portion option of their bowls. At this point I had paid for several adult size bowls for my 3 year old…. Often tossing most of it (by the time we get home from a day of errands I don’t feel like I should save it). Well the owner had responded by saying that I could order one of the bowls but in a cup that they use for soup she then told her employees to do that too and just charge it as a soup instead of a bowl. Mind you, this is a rather small cup and was still about 9 to $10 which I felt was actually over priced but did appreciate a bit of a discount for the smaller portion that I actually needed (rather that 15$). Well today I go through and I’m placing my order for two of the kids burrito bowls, as well as two adult salads and I’m talking to the employee and the owner pokes her head out and talked To me in a scolding tone saying “(they) don’t sell the bowls that way” and that I’d need to choose something different to order. I told her that was ok if that’s their policy, however I reminded her that SHE was the one who told me to order this way for my kids. I think she tried to save face by saying “that was a one time thing” however I know that’s not how it was initially intended because like I said, she gave the employees instructions for how to ring this up as I was a frequent customer of theirs.
**Now I could have split one bowl for my kids however they each wanted different things on the bowls and it would’ve been a total hassle for me to try and have them share a container or get a second container and scoop different parts of the bowls into each container. I ended up throwing in the towel and letting them know I would just go somewhere else to get food.
Now I get it if they would prefer not to sell their food this way that’s totally up to them and their choice however, being that she was the one who told me to order the bowls this way it was incredibly frustrating to be talked down to…like I was somehow short changing them. Business owners don’t realize how this affects their customers. I go there once a week and spent about $40. My mother-in-law is also a frequent customer and often buys 4-6 salads at a time. Sometimes Weekly. My mother-in-law was also disheartened by this and will likely take her...
Read moreThere is so much I love about Edgy Veggie! When I first heard there was going to be a salad food truck in town and that I could drive through and get a salad, that was exciting in and of itself. Then there are the salads and bowls and soups themselves - absolutely delicious with fun combinations I would never think of on my own, generous portions, fresh ingredients, and consistency that gives me confidence that it will always be exactly what I wanted. Maybe the most impressive part though is the staff. You can tell that they all take pride in the food, they are so friendly, and the customer service is next level. I can’t think of any other place I frequent where they actually know my name. I recently had a mixup with DoorDash, which led to a salad sitting in the hot sun for an hour and a half, and the wonderful folks at Edgy Veggie went out of their way to make it right, even though it wasn’t their error. I love this place so much and if you go,...
Read moreSteak in one salad comes cold and kinda rare for my taste. I think they should ask how you want your steak cooked. My second salad came with chicken and it was also cold and had a funny taste. I think a grilled chicken would be good in this salad. The mandarin orange taste like it's out of a can maybe that's the only way to do it. One bite of my salad tasted like dirt. That's how fresh the veggies are which is good as long as they are rinsed well. The sugar snap peas were amazing! They were so sweet it was like they tasted them before they put them in the salad. I spent just over $20 bucks for two salads. If I could have had cooked steak, not raw and chicken that tasted like chicken I would say I'm going to go back. But as of right now I'm not going back. Oh and the dressing for the southwest salad was ok but the dressing for the Chinese salad tasted way too much...
