EntertainMART — Local services in Coeur d'Alene

I've been having problems with entertainmart for a while but this is the straw that broke the camel's back. Entertainment is overpriced and shady. They are the only comic book/manga store in town and they exploit that. Yesterday, I bought a few books from them, came up to about $40. I get home and realized I had the books already. That was my bad, my mess up. I go back in today for a refund with receipt and ID and was told that all books are final and can't be returned, despite 80% of their inventory being books. So here I am, with a book that's still seran wrapped with the price tag on it and they tell me they can buy it back from me. How much for an unopened, untouched book that I bought for $15 less than 24 hours ago? $1.45. Shady, shady, shady. Their figurines and plushies are twice the price as their online purchases, they buy Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon cards from strangers for pennies amount without checking if their fake and then try to sell those fake cards at exorbitant prices (stood next to a customer at the case who pointed out that the $100 Rayquaza vmax was fake and when I left, that customer and employee were still going through the entire Pokemon case pulling the fake ones). And I've been told by an employee (this was a while ago so said employee no longer works there) that the way they price their inventory is that they go online and look for the most expensive purchase history on that particular item, hence why a blue-eyes white dragon card has a $25 label on it (ebay price) and the blue-eyes next to it is only .25 cents (Amazon price) despite it being the same non-first edition card. They are the only comic book/manga store in cda so they can obviously get away with extorting their customers. Spokane has several comic book shops and manga stores, so at this point it's more worth your time and money to drive the 30 minutes...

Don't purchase items from here that you can't confirm are actually the item. I went here a couple months back and found some boxes of miniatures for a game I play at what initially seemed like a good price. They where behind the counter so I found an employee and asked to take a look at them. As I picked up the boxes they seemed to be much lighter than they should have been. They were open boxes so I looked inside and found all that was left was the bits that are normally leftover after completing the models. The bits that are basically worth nothing and most people throw in their bits box, never to be seen again. They had 4 different boxes, ranging in price from $20-$25 with an actual value of maybe a buck a piece. Had the boxes been the actual models the value would have been $20-$45 per box. With this astounding revelation i closed the boxes, chuckled and told the employee "no thanks" and walked away. But this isn't where it ends. I went back a few days ago and the boxes were still for sale, though now they were in a different location and they had wrapped them in shrink wrap. And one of the boxes was missing. So some unfortunate fool bought 1 of them. I will say I have found good deals here before but this whole thing just left a bad taste in my mouth and I probably won't be going back...

I used to work at this store when it was Hastings and I still shop there now that it's Entertainmart. The staff does a really good job of trying to help you find what you're looking for, whether it's books, music, or DVD's. They have been great about ordering things for me too. It's a really fun place to browse around in and I've found some cool fan things like Grogu merchandise (big Star Wars fan!) Their used items are in good shape, but they have plenty of new items as well.

It's July 24th , 2025 and this is an updated review. I had a fabulous experience in here today, even better than usual, so I wanted to share a few more thoughts. I buy a lot of books from Amazon because 90% of the time they're way cheaper than everyone else, especially since you can get used books from Third Party sellers. That being said, I saved a TON of money on books and a dvd here today! I saved 50-90 % on everything I bought. Entertainmart has always been great with their used prices, which is why I shop there, but today really blew my mind. I'm going to check there from now on before I buy from Amazon.
