11/21/16: I just had a bizarre phone call with a lady who is in their stores Tech dept. I simply wanted to know what laser printer would work with my Macs latest operating system( El Capitan) . I could tell from her immediate tone that she was not wanting to help. It seemed like I was putting her out. She said she would have to look at all the boxes to see the operating systems supported. and didn't know what version El Capitan was . ...(don't they have this computerized?) Then when I told her the version (she should have known this being in IT I would have thought) she put me on hold and looked for some printers. When she returned she said there were none compatible and I would have to look on each manufacturers web site or call them to see if they updated them. How can I look at 'each web site' if you don't even tell me which ones will work? Do you seriously expect me to come in the store, look at all the printers then go home and contact each company?
So I asked if they had any black Friday sales on the printers, i could tell by her tone that again she didn't want to help. She sighed and said she didn't know and I would have to look on the companies web site, she hadn't seen their flyers. (This is Black Friday week btw.) She didn't even offer to transfer me to a person who might know this. Seriously, this woman could not have been any less enthusiastic or helpful. She was very dismissive.
Terrible service. No wonder Office Max is struggling. I'll just buy from amazon like everyone...
Read moreI went into this store two nights ago and was taking my time looking at folders, pens etc. A young woman named Kimber asked me two different times if I was doing ok and if I needed any help. Finally, after getting the files I needed I asked her to point me in the direction of the 10-key style calculators. She walked me over to where they were and asked if I had any questions. Then she went on to explain that if they didn't have what I was looking for, they could special order one for me and ship it to my house. While she was explaining this, the lights went out. I asked her if they were closing and said I'd better hurry up, and she goes, "actually we've been closed, but it's no problem at all." Come to find out, they'd been closed for 20 minutes! Then as I'm checking out, a man (might have been the manager) asked if I found everything and was also very nice. I couldn't believe how nice they were even though I must've walked in minutes before they closed. That's good customer service!I will...

It was an intense day when I walked in to pick up my online order, and he was clearly overwhelmed with customers, being the only one at the counter and having two customers acting upset towards him at the same time. Yet he handled it with professionalism and a positive attitude, turning negative conversations into the best situation he could! I opened my order after I drove away and realized that something had been printed larger than what I ordered. I gave Office Max a call, and Haiden picked up the phone. He made sure to walk me through how re-order the items over email, apologized for the inconvenience, and had the order ready within 2 hours of when I realized the mixup.
