WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!

Travis is the worst person I have ever encountered in my entire life as a customer. I will not return until he is fired. He is a pompous person, who belittles children, doesn't offer solutions and thinks being technically correct means he has the right to treat customers like garbage.

Sorry but this is as short as I can make it.

My 11 y/o son walked into the bowling center before me and put a quarter into a gumball machine but it was out of gumballs. My son asked for a refund since it was out of gumballs. This is when I walked into the situation.

Travis said the machines are not owned by the bowling alley so he can't give a refund or his till would be off. My son said that it's unfair for him to not get his money back and Travis told him to "sue him for the quarter".

That is when I jumped into the conversation.

I attempted to be nice and just asked for the quarter back since he could get the quarter from the people who own the machines. He said, No and that it wasn't his problem since they didn't own the machines. He also didn't try to offer a solution or information about how to contact the people who do own the machines.

He and I had a back and forth spat where he kept insulting my son saying things like, "he should pay better attention next time, look to see if there are gumballs in there before putting in the quarter." Or when I said why is there no out of order sign on it, he said it works there are just no gumballs right now.

After 2 minutes of this I looked at Travis and said, "this is clearly going nowhere so let's move on." I asked for his name and took a picture incase the name was incorrect. We paid to bowl and went to our lane.

In that hour I saw Travisstaring at me a few times. When I was walking out of the bowling area and past the front desk Travis decides to say "Thank you" in a sarcastic tone but I chose to keep walking. So he made another comment about me taking a picture.

I responded that he was a smug person who was technically correct about the quarter but had terrible customer service. His response was "At least I am smarter than a gumball machine."

That is when I shouted out to the whole bowling alley that Travis, an adult, is making fun of a child and to watch your children around him. While this was happening the cook in the food court was making baby crying faces at me just putting icing on the cake of the type of culture this business has.

From there I walked out and Travis said to never return and take my business to River City Bowling.

Keep in mind this is all over a quarter.

So, I will be doing exactly that and I will not be spending any more money at Sunset bowling and I will be telling everyone I know about this situation.

After reading all the other negative reviews, I am not sure why the staff thinks they can treat customers so poorly. Maybe b/c they are 1 of 2 bowling alleys in the area but they are guaranteeing their competitor more money. It's a shame b/c with the winter season upon us bowling becomes a regular activity for my family. I was even thinking of joining a...

Oof where to begin… We get there at 1pm for my nieces birthday party, full coffees in hand (we were in a hurry so we didn’t see the no drink/food signs on the way in, our bad) and the man running the desk immediately scolds us to take them out. These being brand new coffees I just paid for and heading in to be around numerous children I was less than enthusiastic to say the least but I had my partner go put them back in the (hot) car.

Being 1 in the afternoon, our party was planning on having lunch here. They arrived early around 12:35 to set up and pay for everything. They were told the kitchen wasn’t open but would be soon. We checked in with the kitchen every ten minutes or so and it wasn’t open until about 1:20. (So you can’t bring outside food but our kitchen won’t be available at a normal lunch hour. Awesome. Better eat before you get here.) Even bette, the pizza that we did eventually get was essentially just a lunchable pizza heated up.

Here’s the real kicker. After dealing with the real sunshine character at the desk being adamant that NO outside food/drink was allowed, we were sat directly next to a group of teen boys who brought in a bag of outside snacks they were eating in the open for over an hour. Their table was in front of the front desk area and well within his view (we saw him glance their way many times without saying anything about their food; I also checked that none of the items they had were sold in here). So why exactly are these young adult boys allowed to have an entire bag of food and we weren’t allowed two coffees??? I guarantee Sunset Bowling doesn’t pay you to be this rude and strict over a beverage. It wouldn’t have cost them anything to allow us to finish our coffee inside. The teenagers didn’t affect anything by bringing in their own personal items and neither would a couple of drinks. Not all customer service is created equal I guess lol.

New management is not an improvement. Also the ridiculous amount of signs all over the place is obnoxious, and I’m not referring to the no drink/food signs. They have “No _” signs for anything and everything, all over the place. Tacky and a serious buzzkill. Most of the arcade games are 50/50 if they’ll even work after you pay for them (yes you guessed it, there’s “no refunds” signs all over the arcade). I’ll stick to River City Lanes. Better food. Better service. Better atmosphere.

[the photo is the boys who brought in food and weren’t scolded like we were. I had a video but unfortunately didn’t realize google reviews only allows for pictures, but in said video it shows that the front desk is mere feet away and well within visibility of their table. He (second picture in the glasses and vest) just gets to pick and choose who gets to ignore the rules I guess. Power trip much? I would like to add I have no issue with the teens and their outside food. It’s not a problem and everyone should be able to. What if someone wants to bring in a birthday cake? Has strict allergies or dietary restrictions? Are they just SOL? At Sunset...

We had a birthday party for our 11 year old son here yesterday. I had called 2 weeks before to ensure the details of the party and make sure it was ok for us to hold one here. The woman who I spoke to told me about their 2 hour pizza/bowling special and said it’s only available when the kitchen is open. I asked her several times if the kitchen would be open, she went and checked and assured me it would be open. We sent invites to kids telling them we would provide pizza and drinks for their kids. We got to sunset at 12, the time they are set to open. They did not open until nearly 10 minutes after 12 leaving us all waiting at the front door wondering if we would be let in at all. As we get settled and try to check in we are immediately told in a very rude way that the kitchen wasn’t open and that she told me on the phone it wouldn’t be open. We were told we wouldn’t have pizza unless by some miracle the guy decided to open the kitchen. I said to the woman well kids have been dropped off by parents for two hours how do you expect us to feed them? She again acted like the kitchen being closed was somehow our fault and that I was in the wrong for counting on the pizza. We then asked if there would be a discount since we weren’t getting the pizza and she said no as the pizza deal is the cheapest option. There was no mention of not being allowed to bring cupcakes in for our sons birthday but she at least allowed us to bring those since we weren’t getting the pizza. The kids were hungry so we ordered Costco pizzas and had to feed them outside since they wouldn’t allow us to bring in “outside” food. Even though no one could buy food from their own kitchen! I’m giving 3 stars because even though my husband and I were upset over the incompetence of the staff and the rude blaming of us for their own incompetence, the lady did try in the end as much as she could and the bowling portion of the event was good. However, I would not recommend having a party of any kind here. You won’t get what you...
