Thunder Games — Local services in Coeur d'Alene

Don't bother coming here to buy Magic in any kind of quantity. I had a pile of cards from their bulk boxes. This stuff is trade-in and is basically free money to the store. Two of the cards were worth $7 and $10 respectively with two at $5 each, while all other cards were $2 or $3. I had a pile that came to $78 and asked if he would do 10% off (I actually just asked if he could do $70) and he said no, he would not do that.

So I just picked out the 4 cards I really wanted, and that WERE likely to sell anyway, gave him the $20 it came to wanted and left it at that. The guy there today would rather pass up $50 in cash for a bunch of bulk, then to take 10% off a bunch of value-box trade-ins, most of which probably won't sell and will just wind up in a $20 "value box" anyway. This is the second time this has happened, with the last time, about a year ago, being me asking if I could get $20 off a $210 purchase of similar bulk stuff, and being told they would not do it.

I miss the previous owner. I would routinely go in and drop several hundred dollars a month on singles, and he always gave me a deal, meaning I came back to him. The new owners would rather not sell me cards that other people are not buying, just so that they can wind up in $20 bulk boxes at a later date.

I am a big spender when a place actually wants my money, but I don't think Thunder Games actually...

A friend of mine invited my son to this game shop to play Pokemon. The owner, Jeff, immediately greeted us as we walked in. I really enjoyed the atmosphere better than anywhere else in town, very kid friendly. My son was so happy when I picked him up telling me that he had so much fun there. Jeff's prices seem very reasonable, and he is overall just a really friendly guy and easy to get to know. Highly recommended, we found our new gaming home.

This place has some of the best customer service around! You could really tell they weren't just looking for a good sales pitch, but we're trying to make sure each customer has the best experience they can. An excellent dnd collection (including multiple copies of Vecna Eve of Ruin and Quests from the Infinite Staircase), workers there are willing to call the owner to ask to do something unusual in favor of a customer.
