Anna is absolutely amazing!

I just got my first tattoo, and I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out! This tattoo is extra special for me—it’s a tribute to my late aunt, and Anna truly helped bring that vision to life. From the moment I walked into the shop, I was excited but also a little nervous. However, Anna made the entire experience so calming and enjoyable. Honestly, I was expecting to feel more anxious, but instead, it turned out to be one of the most therapeutic experiences I’ve ever had.

I was lucky enough to work with Anna for the first time, and it felt like reconnecting with an old friend. She made sure I was comfortable throughout the whole process, checking in on me to make sure I was okay! Surprisingly, I didn’t need any breaks at all, as the whole experience was surprisingly calm and manageable. Her attentiveness and care really helped me relax and stay focused on the moment.

As for the tattoo itself, Anna nailed it! She listened to everything I wanted, and not only did she perfectly capture my aunt's memory, but she went above and beyond to make sure the design was exactly what I had in mind. The amount of care she put into it made this tattoo even more meaningful to me.

The tattoo itself was more than bearable—honestly, it didn’t hurt that much, but I have a pretty high pain tolerance, so keep that in mind! If you’re someone who’s worried about the pain, trust me, it’s not as bad as you might think. I know some people think getting a tattoo is like bloodwork or an intense medical procedure, but from my experience, it’s completely different—more of a steady, manageable sensation rather than something that’s unbearable or scary.

When I was done, Anna gave me a little aftercare bag with everything I needed, including a sheet with clear instructions on what to do (and what not to do), plus some goodies and a thank you card. It was such a thoughtful touch and really made me feel taken care of.

I’m so grateful for this experience, and I can honestly say I’ve found my forever tattoo artist. I have had nothing but the best experiences here. I approached Adam a few years ago looking for a very specific, very custom piece that dozens of other well-known shops had turned me down for (it was a neotraditional portrait of my aunt). Not only did he deliver, but he blew my mind with the final result and it was more than I could’ve ever dreamed of, especially given that neotraditional is not his usual form of art. I sat for 8 hours for that tattoo and the conversation & silence were both comfortable and none of it was awkward. Since then, I’ve been back twice more with requests of the same style (neotraditional) in sessions of 8-12 hours. I’ll never go anywhere else. Adam is very easy to reach out to, to discuss ideas and changes to design, he’s very up front about the entire process and doesn’t ask you to show up for the appointment with no final sketch and to “trust the process”. I’ve had questions even weeks after the appointment and he’s always easy to get ahold of and helpful. The shop is in a great location that doesn’t have a bunch of wayward foot traffic and gawkers that randomly pop in, everyone that works here is very approachable and easy going, and the toilet sign in the bathroom makes me laugh EVERY TIME I SEE IT. I cannot speak enough to the professionalism, cleanliness, organization, and friendly vibe of this shop. Been going to Adam now for years to get tattoos, and couldn't ask for someone better to do the work. His line work is super crisp and detailed and the way he's able to pack and layer colors to really make them pop is top tier. There isn't really a style of tattoo Adam doesn't excel in and he's always no matter what open minded to hear everyone's thought and idea to bring them to life. My first time meeting him, he stayed after hours so I could meet him at his shop simply just to get a rough draft of what I wanted. We talked for close to an hour, and then he free handing some sketches for my arm. His attention to detail and creative mindset is rivaled by very few. And to top it off the other artists Anna, Chelsea and Howie are top tier as well! Anna is always so friendly and super talkative. She makes you feel right still home. Everything in the shop is clean and meticulously kept. I can't recommend Small Town Studio enough to anyone.
