Desmond’s is by far the worst for getting a tow. Years ago they practically stole my vehicle. The driver drove around for over an hour and a half with my car on the flatbed when the destination was only 15 minutes away. He had his young child in the vehicle as well on a hot day. While attempting to unload the vehicle, their flatbed starting dumping oil all over my street(which they took over two weeks to clean up). They then proceeded to tow their vehicle, with mine still attached back to their shop. After that they closed down for the day and stop responding to phone calls from myself and AAA. It took over three hours to locate my vehicle. The owner, who’s an absolute disaster of a human, told me it would be days until I got my vehicle back and they weren’t going to remove my vehicle off their tow until they fixed their tow truck first. Then they randomly delivered my car to location I requested an hour later with no contact to me, and the driver proceeded to bad mouth me.

The other night I had to call AAA for a tow. The driver showed up immediately but once I told him my ride wasn’t there yet, he told me he was going to put down that I refused the tow. I went back to my vehicle to call AAA, as I do this my ride showed up and he took off. I then called AAA and he not only told them I refused the call, but he also had it so no one at Desmond’s would come pick up my car. They are so unbelievably rude at this facility and unprofessional. They do not have great customer service. The responses they make to reviews on here just show how they bully their customers and treat everyone poorly. Not once do they issue an apology or take responsibility. I highly suggest never letting this company touch your car. They will steal, damage, and verbally assault you every chance they get. Think twice before you buy any vehicles or have any vehicle serviced from Desmond's. My father is a senior citizen that also had a traumatic brain injury years ago. Desmond's took full advantage of him & his money. 1 He traded in a truck in return he got pennies for the truck that he was traded in. 2 he gave cash on top of the deal more $$ than what the truck was worth 3 he brings the truck home next thing there's oil all over the driveway 4 he brings it back to Desmond's he then leaves it at Desmond's for them to repair the oil leak 5 a few hours later they say the trucks all set (in my opinion they just cleaned up the oil underneath & did no repair at all) 6 Because a few days later he's driving the truck there's smoke coming from everywhere it's from a massive oil leak that was not repaired by Desmonds (Ford dealership said this truck 💯 could have caught on fire 7 since Desmond's did not fix the leak properly the first time nor go through and give the truck a thorough safety inspection he brought it to a Ford dealership they said it was the oil feed lines along with both turbos along with multiple other mechanical issue the bill was over '$8000' 8 He pays 8k plus and picks up the truck from Ford Dealership 9 he then heads to Desmonds with the receipt Desmond's says sorry we can't help you out with any kinda refund. My experience with Desmond’s leaves much to be desired. On Thursday the 27, I went off the road and needed a tow. I then called the police and AAA. The police showed up first to make sure I was ok when dealing with them. Desmond’s first flat bed tow truck arrived, driven by Kevin Gibeault (first time ever meeting him). We had a brief conversation where he told me I was the second one he was dealing with that went off the road that day. I go back and finish up with the police while Kevin Gibeault using his cell phone, took pictures of me and my car, while I was not paying attention. This was while I was talking to the state trooper. Then a second Desmond’s tow truck arrives and Kevin Gibeault takes off. He did absolutely nothing other than take photos of me and my car. The second tow truck towed my car to the body shop and the second driver brought me to my job. Later that day I find out that Kevin Gibeault has posted pictures of my car, me, and listed where I work online. This is very unprofessional of Kevin Gibeault and he included a slanderous caption for all to see. I started reading the comments and soon enough he calls me a “tool” and lists my employer. I am a Business professional who has worked in the Groton and New London Automotive industry for 10+ years and have never felt so violated and shamed for calling a tow truck when I was in need of help.
