My wife and I saw a laminate countertop in a retail store that we really liked and I have always been a DIY kind of guy but our kitchen had one top that had to be custom fabricated, a job I wasn't prepared to tackle. I contacted Coldwater Top Shop and they got the exact same top style that we wanted, could fabricate the custom top and the difference in what we would pay for just the tops and the cost to take on the entire project made their bid impossible to resist. I came it with a definite job for them, picked out stone, emailed renderings of the project and didn't hear back. I sent a follow up email the next week and still heard nothing back, so I called to make sure my emails had been received. I was assured they had been received and would get me an estimate soon.
