ALWAYS travel this way between Farmington New Mexico and Montrose Colorado w my fiance! Scary as hell for me w my fiance driving it so I drive us now. Scary but beautiful drive. Yesterday we stopped and helped a car that had gone off the side of the road and got the couple back on the road. So many plenty of nice ppl helping slow traffic down and warning the drivers w their hazards on and to be careful as we was pulling them out. Here's a pic of the car we helped get out. This is the pass I'd rather take any day over Red Mountain Pass. The mountains are so beautiful and green and colorful.

Such a beautiful drive especially in the fall when the Aspens are yellow! We drove this pass between Mesa Verde and Telluride and enjoyed it very much

This area is one of my favorite places to camp. Priest Lake is amazing in its views, reminding me of a Colorado Lake Louise look like I've seen in Alberta, Canada, though the water color is quite different. The views are stunning, with nice little waterfalls off the beaten path in early summer. The three hundred and sixty San Juan Mountains panorama view from the top of the pass is one of the finest...

We were able to pull in on the dirt road and boondock with our 40 foot 5th wheel no problem. Even though it was very rainy, the dirt road was rocky enough that mud wasn't a problem. Would do it again in...
