My Red Moon Antique Mall — Local services in Columbia City

Many have been patiently awaiting the reopening of this mall as I travel from my home in South Bend to Fort Wayne and would stop here frequently for years. The positives are the renovations. It is clean, bright and fantastic looking. The staff is friendly when I ask questions. There is plenty of parking. But as someone looking to possibly get a booth here, I was disappointed in the higher rent as compared to other malls. And the fact that there is no public restroom is a deterrent for me. With this large building of 18,000 sq ft., customers want to take their time shopping and if they have to take time to drive to find a restroom, they will not return and the store can lose possible sales. I am sorry but no one wants to use a outside porta potty. This can be a liability for owners if a customer were to pass out in the 90+ temps in the summer or if they were to slip and fall getting into the porta potty in the cold winter months. I hope they plan on shoveling and salting a pathway to this porta potty. Many people have children or older family members with them that frequent the facilities. And then there are those with ailments or medical issues that may require they use a restroom with a hand wash sink. Vendors told me that they also are not allowed to use the restroom. I was really surprised by this considering they are paying a rent and a percentage of sales. There are some great vendors in this mall but I notice several empty showcases and vacant spots and other vendors may be deterred from getting a booth due to no restroom. When Driving from South Bend or a far distance to work on a booth for several hours, using a restroom is necessary. Sadly they will lose money in sales due to not having a public restroom, and if dealers are not selling to cover their rent they will end up moving out. The more sales the dealer has the more money the store owner makes. What a shame because this mall is simply a beautiful building with a nice selection of vendors. This mall is located off highway 30. and has a great easy to get to location. It is totally newly renovated clean and beautiful inside. Great vendors with an array of great finds and merchandise. It has something for everyone. I can never get out of this mall without buying several different things. You will want to visit the mall every week as they have new things being brought in weekly by the wonderful selection of vendors. A must see mall that keeps everyone wanting...

This store has made major improvements and looks so much nicer! Easy to navigate and the items are better quality than they were with the prior owners. Super friendly staff and clean store. My only disappointment was that after spending an hour in the store, shoppers need access to a restroom and they don’t currently have a public restroom.
