Memory Lane Antique Shop — Local services in Columbia Township

This used to be one of our favorite antique shops until we trusted them with repairing some oak veneer on one of our antique dresser drawers. When we were told our piece was ready for pick up, we drove the hour long ride to find that all the chips that were to be fixed (by pulling the old veneer and replacing with new) were not fixed AND there were dark scratches on our piece that were not previously there. When we were told our piece was ready the second time, we drove all the way back to be double charged! The owner's explanation was that the veneer had to be pulled back off. Our response - of course it did. But if it would have been done correctly the first time, that wouldn't have been necessary. Why would your customer be charged for your mistake? NOT a good business practice. And to think we've spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars at this shop...

Very uncomfortable experience. Have never been here and didn't see parking posted. I pulled up towards the front of the building, but giving plenty of space to accommodate possible handicapped people (like you would a normal establishment). The owner started waving his hands crazily above his head, I originally thought he was going to tell me they were closed although the open sign was on. He approached my car and in an incredibly rude way, let me know that no one parks like that and that I was parking in the middle of the parking lot. There was only 1 other car parked in the lot at 11:30am on a Wednesday with tons of space everywhere, but thanks for making me feel unwelcome. Should have just left immediately, there is a way to talk to people and you lack those...

What a surprising treat! I accidentally found this place while traveling, and it was right up my alley. I didn't have long, as it was late in the day- but the sweet person working made me feel welcome and enjoy the time I had. They had things I love, love to dig through! Lots of paper ephemera and little trinkets. I didn't get through the whole store, but plan to visit again when I can. The person working was so nice and friendly. I had a great time stopping by.
