I don't write many reviews but there's no way I wasn't going to do so after my experience at Shooter's. Even though I've been in the Military for 20+ years and am accustomed to Military firearms and ranges, I've never been to a private indoor range. To be honest, I was a little nervous about what I presumed would be a "hassle" of do's and don'ts before I was able to get in a lane. Safety is priority #1, I get that, I was just worried that there would be so much red tape that it would distract me for the reason of going: Familiarize/sight-in new firearm.
To my surprise, it was a very easy and pleasant experience. I was greeted at the door by very nice Lady (name escapes me) that walked me through the protocols, provided me with eye and ear pro, walked me to the range to show me the quick Do's and Don'ts and I was off and running. I was there around an hour after opening, so I had the range to myself. The range is very clean and well laid out. The prices were very good.
After the range, I moseyed on over to the other side of the building where the Gun Store was. Wow. There were a lot of cool displays in there. Tony, the owner, greeted me and we talked for a while about different firearms and calibers. We also talked about the conceal carry classes they hold there. I'll definitely be attending one of those classes. We talked for about a good 25 minutes, with him answering all of the questions I had. For a minute, I felt like I was back in my home state of Texas with the hospitality.
Again, overall it was a great experience and I'll no...
Read moreAwesome place and awesome staff; it's a gem of a find.
Family friendly, I didn't ask but it might've even been pet friendly too. I read some of the reviews before checking it out, and I didn't find them rude at all. The range safety officer guy said he was a bit deaf in one ear, so you have to speak up.. Might've forgotten to wear his ear-pro a few too many times, but I guess some people took that as rude. I didn't find him to be rude at all.
The range itself is adequate. Only 25 yards, I wish it were at least 36 yards to get a proper AR zero, but it's adequate and functional for certain things.
I also checked out the gun store side, and had a small gunsmithing job I needed done. Lots of older used firearms, not a huge stock of ammo but they've got most basic things at a fair price, and an interesting collection of Winchester lever actions weren't for sale. I kinda wished some of them were, because they have really cool ones.
Excellent gunsmith work, very prompt, great customer service, and very...
Read moreI did a lot of research on-line to find a decent indoor range. The closest one to me in Belleville out of 50 reviews over 90% were negative!
Eventually I found SHOOTERS in COLUMBIA. Stopped in to see what they were like, asked a few questions and left. Seemed O.K. But the real test was reserving a lane and trying them out first hand.
Well I have to say, They have a nice facility, Nothing special, however more importantly EVERYONE was nice, polite and where more than happy to answer any questions as well as help me out!
They now have a customer for life. well at least until my next order of ammo shows up!!!
Customer service makes or breaks a business, and how that place in Belleville stays in business is beyond me. Ans SHOOTERS will grow & Grow as long as they keep us the customers happy.
Oh I forgot to mention, They don't over charge or make you buy their...
