Value Auction Barn — Local services in Columbia

We go to many auctions across the state. Value auction Barn is a disappointment. They are not professional and seemingly underhanded. There have been times when they state something is sold, and then realize there was someone else who wanted to bid, so they will say they are opening the bidding back up again. They will forget where they are in the bids and have to ask what the last bid was. They are slow and unorganized. They will start taking bids on items that have no reserve price and if they do not like the bid, they say they will just hold it until their next auction and the price will be higher. Marla, your review may be how you perceived the auction after "going to many auctions" but the Value Auction Barn is not like other auctions. The floor staff may appear to bid items higher, but, in fact, they are bidding for the online absentee bidders. The items offered at the Value Auction Barn are many and varied, and the bidding guidelines are clearly posted on the walls of the "climate controlled building." Value Auction Barn is not like your typical auction. It's a more relaxed atmosphere than other auctions. The staff are very friendly and helpful and always welcome you with a smile. There is music before the auction and the Sunday lunches they serve are always delicious. The items auctioned are varied and sometimes you run across something you've never seen before.
