🤩 This is totally my new favorite place to go. I’m so excited and happy that my sister spotted Looking Glass Creamery. This is an absolute gem, and I am so thankful that it’s not a long drive from our home. I think that we will become regulars at this lovely establishment. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable about the many wonderful offerings of cheeses, herb salts, jams, ice cream, grass fed beef and many other items. I am very particular about what goes in my mouth or on my skin and was thrilled with what I was reading on the ingredients labels.
Now, as many people talk about and share stories and pictures of the beautifully presented charcuterie boards and beverages enjoyed seated on the patio or at one of the lovely spots on the grounds, we opted to instead purchase several cheeses, salame, mustard, blackberry/blueberry jam and crackers to make our own board at home. I also bought some grits, a pint of ice cream and the carmoolita sauce (to be consumed later). In addition to sharing photos of the location, I’m also taking the liberty to share pictures of the beautiful and delicious meal that I made for dinner primarily with ingredients from Looking Glass Creamery.
I pan seared wild Alaskan salmon in ghee and seasoned with the Rosemary Red Wine Salt and the Course Ground Mustard. I made the 1790 Grits as a side using the recipe for cheese grits on the package with some personalizing like using bone broth instead of water. Everything was delicious and we especially loved the Black & Blue Jam paired with the Garlic & Dill Fromage Blanc. It was all a delightful treat for our palates. Already thinking about the other items I want to go back for. And, the goats were adorable and...
Read moreHad a very nice time here, staff very knowledgeable and friendly. Got to sample a lot of their cheeses and bought an excellent dry salami (only thing I bought there that was not produced there) a sharp cheddar cheese, a parmesan-like cheese and a garlic & herb soft cheese, some excellent fresh beef bones for broth, marinated mustard seeds and to treat - I got a cup of maple bacon ice cream (oh, yes!) and Herb got a cup of fig & honey ice cream (swoon). They make their ice cream, there, too. This is a full working dairy and they employ very thoughtful sustainable practices to make the farm not only viable but profitable. They have lots of other things they produce there like apple butter, black pepper & blueberry jam, hard cider and lots more. They have a very pleasant place to sit outdoors with a cheese board to nibble and hard cider, soda or other beverages or you can sit inside and chat with the staff. Highly recommend and will definitely be taking out-of-town...
Read moreYou know the cheese and ice cream are going to be amazing when, across the rolling pastures, you can see the cows from whence they came. I love stopping in at the Looking Glass Creamery farm store; the folks there are so glad to see you and offer you samples of their homemade ice cream and award-winning cheeses. I can never resist sampling their unique ice cream flavors like whiskey marmalade and getting a cup or cone to enjoy while I peer through the window of the cheese grotto at row after row of cheese wheels aging to delicious perfection. In addition to the cheese making operation, there are also goats and other farm animals to see and special activities to enjoy at various times. A farm map for self-guided tours is available inside the farm store. It isn't often we get to see where our food is made; Looking Glass Creamery is a wonderful place to have a real...
