Too Long Didn't Read: Their craigslist listings for cars are horrible and no one knows what they're doing.
The Full Story:
They had a 2005 Kia Spectra listed on craigslist with around 120k miles. It was represented as "Clean inside and out" "No KNOWN issues". When I arrived at the place to take a look at it the woman working informed us she's on lunch so we waited about 35 minutes before she allowed me to look at the car. The first things I noticed was there was a lot of rust all over the car, paint bubbling up, and both the front and back bumpers were starting to come off (not to bad yet but definitely something you can instantly notice). She tells me and I'm paraphrasing here so it's not exactly what she said, "Yeah there's a lot of rust like I said in the post". She mentioned nothing in the post about rust as you can see from the screenshot I've provided. She then turns the car on and there's a check engine light. I didn't have my OBD II reader with me because I assumed her post was going to be somewhat truthful so I asked if they had one I could use. She runs to get one and spends a few minutes trying to read it without success. She says the reader is a cheapo that never works so I ask if I could try it. It worked fine and was pretty simple to operate. One button to read the codes. 2 selections in a menu to get to each code readout. The code was a "small leak" somewhere which I remember thinking probably wouldn't even matter in Ohio because there's no emissions test. The inside of the car was relatively clean but there was a ton of rust on the metal releases (gas/trunk) by the driver side. Looking through the car I noticed a Wal-Mart receipt in the back from a place near Cleveland which I had expected because of all the rust. The last thing that really made me walk away was I asked if we could test drive it and she said they don't allow you to test drive the cars they sell. I can't believe how misrepresented this car was. You'd think a place that buys and sells car parts would know how to list a car or even use an OBD II reader but apparently not. Part of me thinks they did this on purpose but then I remember the old phrase, "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained...
Read morePurchased wheel and rim on 8/31 near end of day. Was told that I had 3 days to return it.
The wheel didn’t fit my car, so I went back on 9/1 to return it. They said they couldn’t do a return without the receipt, which I left at home. So, I swapped that one out for another wheel and tire. That wheel fit better, but still not great.
On 9/2, I ended up getting another wheel from elsewhere, so I called at 5:20pm to see if I could come in to return the wheel and tire. No one answered the phone, so I hung up after about 10 or more rings.
I went in on 9/3 (today) with receipt to return the wheel and tire. I was at first told that I might not be able to return it, even though it was clearly within the 3 day period I was first told. I was then told, for the first time, that I’d get store credit for the tire. I got my money back for the wheel, and store credit for the tire.
Their receipt said they inspect the tires for obvious damage. The tire I got on 9/1 had very obvious large parts of the sidewall and tread gouged out enough to see exposed metal reinforcement in the tire. I didn’t care, since I just wanted a replacement wheel, but it looks like this goes against their own policy.
Their sliding glass door sensors near the front are broken, with handwritten signs saying to pull them open yourself. It looks like the signs have been there awhile. Still had to manually open them from 8/31 to 9/3.
The staff were cold at best, and downright rude to multiple customers at worst. I know it’s a junkyard, but I’ve been working on cars for over 15 years, and haven’t gotten customer service this bad from this or any other junkyard up to now.
Unless you’re really strapped for cash and can’t find a better price elsewhere, I don’t...
Read moreI give this place 2 stars. One for the friendly lady who works the front desk, and answers the phone. The other for the man and his sister who towed my vehicle away. I sold my vehicle to this place in August. I received a random check, from the BMV, to prove I have financial responsibility on the same vehicle in in October. The proof of sale that I need is the check stub I was given at the time the vehicle was towed away. Unfortunately that check stub is long gone. I called the office to see if I could be helped and got nowhere. The representative repeatedly said I should've kept my check stub. I completely understand and take responsibility for this, but I don't have it and I needed help. I asked if there was anything at all she could provide that would prove I sold them my vehicle. She answered "Not that I can get to". She was irritated, although I wasn't rude to her. There is absolutely no way I'm going to believe there wasn't anything she could provide me. I would've paid, and waited as long as I needed because I know this would've been an inconvenience to the person working on this. I would have never received the random check if PickNPull would’ve flipped the title over into their names. This means I’m still, technically financially responsible for the vehicle. This has definitely ruined the otherwise good experience I had with them. So just a warning, if you sell your vehicle to them, just be prepared to not be helped if you happen to need...
