Unfortunately I really liked the place and wanted to move here because overall the staff were nice and the units were great when toured but decided to not move forward after months of inconsistent information. I first applied for a 1BR and was able to locked a unit in for the date and price I wanted. Throughout that process I was told incorrect information as far as move-in cost and proration that I caught but thought of it a honest mistake and didnât think much of it. After finalizing some information, I asked to have the lease sent over as I was ready to sign. Was told that theyâll send over the lease as soon as they can and set up an orientation date. Weeks went by and I never got sent over the lease. A month before my set move in date, I was called and told that unfortunately my unit I âsecuredâ was now unavailable because the current tenant changed their mind about moving which didnât make sense because why put the unit on the market in the first place if that could potentially happen (or if a tenant could retract their move out notice anytime). Since there werenât anymore units available at the time, I was basically told theyâll get back to me as soon as they can. Well I didnât get a response from them anytime soon so I of course went ahead to look other apartment complexâs since now Iâm on a shorter time frame to find a place that lined up with my expiring lease. Was eventually contacted back and long story short, they told me they had another unit available but I already paid for another submitted application elsewhere because I didnât trust to wait around and not have anything secure. Told them I was still interested but was looking at other options that I wanted to compare to so I was told I could get a current unit for said price for the move-in date I originally wanted. After a few days to a week I decided to give them another chance and called back with the intentions of moving forward with securing a unit. Unfortunately I was told a higher price than previously mention and they wasnât able to hold the unit for my desirable move-in date (without it being $100-$200 more then the listed price on the website) which can be usually understandable but you would think you could make a exception to make up for the mess up the first time. In conclusion, my experience consisted of poor communication, inconsistent information, and out of a admin fee because of their mistakes.
Updated Response: I never wanted to change my move-in time and was very adamant about it but was kept being told earlier move-in dates. Also I was looking to add a roommate later and after inquiring, I was seriously ready to pull the trigger but they was still unable to work with me and was told different information after reaching back out (Still pushed back on move-in date and price despite conflicting availability and prices on website). The bottom line is, unfortunately,...
Read moreI have liked living here for the past six months but it will not be as great once they introduce paid parking.
The good: The staff so far has been amazing and showed great customer service. Service is quick to repair anything that is broken. Other than the noise from living so near the airport, it is a quiet place to live. It is easy to get to the highway and Easton. To go Downtown is a $10/15 Uber or Lyft ride at full price. They also have a âTrash valetâ service where at a certain time 5 days a week; they will pick up your trash bag out of your can and save you a walk to the dumpster.
The not so good: While there are many great things about living here, it is very expensive. Many people have had issues with their cars being broken into. I lock my car and have not had this problem. Sunbury Ridge is at least transparent about letting residence know about break ins. The windows do not block much sound and let a lot of cold air in. The appliances are old and do not work well.
Sunbury Ridge recently sent an email to all of its residents about plans to update appliances. At first, it sounds great, but they snuck in that message that they will be rolling out âPriority Parking.â They phrase it that it will be there for residents to reserve a spot in case some parking spots have to be used for the renovations. I had to go into the office to get more information. They plan to keep the âPriority Parkingâ while charging a monthly fee after the renovations are finished. They tried to sell me that for a monthly fee Iâll be able to choose a spot and be able to get a car towed if someone is in my spot. The problem is they are trying to sell me a parking spot I am already able to get included with my rent. The rent is expensive enough as it is, and now they want to lessen the value of living here by holding my parking spot near my apartment at ransom. This move is nothing but a shameless cash grab will only cost residence more money without improving anything about the apartments. Up to this point, I was planning to sign up for another year after my lease expires. At the end of my lease, I will look around at other similarly priced apartments that do not pull...
Read morePros: very clean & quiet community, a lot of resident events, staff extremely pleasant & patient, K. Cooper is the property manager and shes extremely amazing, and maintenance is very fast.
Cons:
Valet trash is not convenient and very over priced (30+). Most times my trash is not collected or late putting it outâŚRaccoons are a major issue through the property. You have to wake up to put your trash inside of the bin at 8am or you have to take your own trash to the compactor. A lot of residents haul their own trash anywaysâŚ
Pest control is not convenient- I have to constantly put in a work order to have my unit sprayed when I constantly have insects in my unit. Flies, spiders, and gnats! I find numerous gnats inside of my fridge and freezer truly disgusted and constantly discarding food & cleaning my fridge⌠I have to fight gnats when preparing food because my kitchen is near the front door.. Iâve tried multiple remedies to keep insects away from my porch light (you can not turn it off btw) this was not a issue when I moved in because it was cold and now I canât wait until winter lol
Air conditioner went out and they was pretty fast at repairing⌠thermostats are outdated.
Youâre responsible for every bill you can imagine at this property. The leasing agent who took the application definitely left out ALOT of key information and fees⌠I will do more research before I move to a different community.
My experience isnât the worst but itâs not the...
