Fantastic Shows, Great Message!!! I had the privilege of seeing one of Doug's shows live and another one of his shows on DVD with my own kids at home. Doug's show seamlessly blends educational content with entertainment. I'll bet that every single kid in that room remembered every single idea and key concept from the show. He can take a boring topic like ecology and make it interesting and relevant to kids. Often I think some of the biggest obstacles educators face is making these educational concepts relevant. Doug's show brings them to life.
I watched Doug's Diversity Circus show on DVD with my kids, ages five and three. I wasn't sure what they would take away from the program because they are young, but they stayed engaged for the entire show. We then tried watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, and they insisted I put the DVD back on for another viewing because it was way more interesting than the parade. Doug's message is incredible and one that every kid needs to hear.
One of the best thing about Doug's school assemblies is that he offers so many different shows. Another principal told me that they bring Doug into their school every year as a different character with a different show. He said that each show is so different that the kids don't even realize it's the same performer they had the previous year.
I can't recommend...
Read moreOur school had the privilege of having Mr. Scheer perform his Magic Bookshelf Assembly to kick-off our reading month! His show was absolutely amazing and he had both students and staff fully engaged, laughing and smiling the whole time. He is an extremely talented and professional performer who truly has a gift for interacting with his audience. His assembly was equally enjoyed by both Kindergarteners all the way to sixth graders, which is a feet in itself to entertain such an age range. After his two performances, I had multiple teachers come to me to say it was hands-down the best March is Reading Month assembly that our school has ever had! The follow-up question then was, when can we get him to come back for another one of his shows? If you ever have the chance to have Mr. Scheer out to perform at your school or event, don't hesitate...
Read moreDoug Scheer came to our elementary school and performed the Les Trouble, P.I. show. The kids had a blast!! The show really engaged the students from start to finish using exciting music and magic. Not to mention, the whole show focused on how to solve problems. And he used realistic examples of situations students could find themselves in.
His show was recommended by a parent who is also a teacher and saw his show at her school. We decided to try one out this year and we were not disappointed. It was definitely worth the money. I would recommend splitting the school into 2 performances. We did one performance for K-3 and one for 4-6. We really liked that Doug changed some of the magic and examples of problems students could face based on the age group of students.
This is a must see! We cant wait to have...
