This curated and delicious dinner by the chef and his mother was an incredible experience. I really loved how he explained what each dish was and the history behind them. There were things that I didn't even know even though I am also Korean. Every dish that was served was delicious, full of flavor, and left me eager for more. Even though I was pretty full, I had to try everything, and it was worth it. I've never had a personal chef come to my house and prepare a meal, and if this is what it's like, I now understand why people have personal chefs. This is such a great way to get people together, not only to have a delicious feast, but to also be able to share and learn about another culture through its food. I highly recommend this experience, and I hope that they are able to travel to other cities in the future so that I can be the first to welcome them to Chicago! My girlfriend and I enjoyed these wonderful courses of food together with a group of friends to celebrate our upcoming move to another city. We were able to sit with our close friends and have a great time and enjoy all of this DELICIOUS food as we shared our favorite memories and our future dreams. The Korean BBQ Chefs were friendly and professional, and fun to talk with while we got to witness them prepare and serve our meals.

Ok down to the food, everything I ate this night was memorable, and I still crave these meals frequently. There was plenty of food so I didn't have to hold back and worry if others would have enough to eat. I hadn't had eel before and it changed my life.

A very unique and personal experience for those looking to go beyond the usual dine-in experience. I wasn’t sure what to expect as Korean cuisine varies greatly depending on where you go but I was pleasantly surprised to find that the mother & son duo behind The Korean BBQ Chef offered authentic Korean dishes but with locally sourced ingredients.

The BBQ eel was easily the highlight, juicy and savoury sweet, I found my self frequently gravitating to it along with the Korean BBQ, which was cooked by the owner MJ himself. He explained the process which he builds rapport and sourced ingredients from local market vendors where possible.
