Read moreI don't know what has happened to this place. When I arrived, they waited until AFTER I had paid (NO REFUNDS!!) to let me know I couldn't bring my camera in. I asked about phones but the lady just kept telling me to leave. They told another person, also after they had let him pay. I had to walk back to my car and drop off an instant camera. When I called the next day to ask about it, the woman told me I was wrong, cameras were allowed in. When I said I had been kicked out for having a camera, she told me they couldn't list everything that isn't allowed on their website, and it's in the rules. I asked where these rules were, since they weren't in the FAQ and I had read it. She told me they were in the Cabarrus County Fairbook. I asked her where it was, she told me on the website. I asked her where and she couldn't or wouldn't tell me. I asked multiple times to see a copy of the rules that said cameras aren't allowed, and she continued to swap between "they are allowed," "they aren't allowed and we can't write down every rule" and "it's not even that big a deal" I eventually begged her to let me read the rules for the fair, and she told me couldn't help me and hung up. I am STILL looking for this Cabarrus County Fairbook, so if someone finds it please let me know. No one was directing traffic at the event, people kept missing the turn because people were just standing about next to all the cones. There was no signage from the fair for parking, just from the businesses and homes down the road...
Food was good, the racing pigs were the best part. Very pricey, they do not take card at the front for tickets, but it seems food vendors...
Read moreI can't believe how much this fait had grown since the 1st time I that I visited it yrs ago! Once we got to the fair grounds we circled an hour before we made our own parking space under a tree! The local law enforcement that were working the traffic control were no help and lack support and customer service! They seemed content to just keeping us moving without any help on where there were available spaces to park! After about the 3rd time I circled in and force out again the parking lot, that when I made my own parking space on the grass under a tree! This worked out perfect cause it was then only a short walk to the arena! Once we finally arrived at the rodeo arena, we were told we needed wristbands and given the run around like with the parking! I had purchased our tickets in advance and just needed to have my phone scanned by the very same people that sent us on the run around! After the rodeo which we missed an hour of due to the traffic, we proceeded to the Fair and the midway! Now keep in mind we had wristbands on, but once we cleared security we were asked again to show our tickets this time for the fair! According to the website, when you purchase tickets for the rodeo, the fair tickets are included! Once inside the fair, we ate overpriced fair food and visited only two exhibit halls! But I must admit I had a great time and can't wait for next year! By that time I hope they have better parking, better communication/customer service and a better traffic contingency.! We also planed on arriving much earlier! See y'all next year...
